Just in case you're bored already

23 Summer Boredom Busters

Summer has only started and the initial excitement has begun to wear off. By now the summer jobs have started, regular chores have returned and boredom has begun to set in. Luckily, my friends and I came up with a plan to avoid this very boredom. Together we made a list of all the things we want to do this summer. And while our list is long we are hoping to fit it all in. Here are some of the items on our list but also some other items which are equally as good boredom busters.

1. Go bowling

If you're not that good you can always use the bumpers. There is no shame!

2. Play some mini golf

Or go real golfing!

3. Take a weekend and hit garage sales

Whether going to garage sales or going to a local thrift shop, there is no beating those deals. And while you'll probably find a lot of things you don't need, you might find something you do need.

4. Go to the zoo

Some zoos even offer opportunities to feed some of the animals

5. Have a beach day

Drive out to your local water mass or go to the pool. You can play in the water or get a tan!

6. Go roller skating

You may fall but that's how you learn right?

7. Go to a baseball game

It's still baseball season so there is still time to catch a game or two. They may even have a deal going on some of the nights.

8. Have a water balloon fight

It's hot out, go be a kid again!

9. Go to the movies

Sooo many movies are coming out this summer, Finding Dory, X-Men: Apocalypse, Nerve, The Do Over, Ghostbusters. Make a list and go see them all!

10. Go ice skating

Again, falling's just part of the game.

11. Shop somewhere new

You have your favorite stores but try switching it up!

12. Take a road trip

Grab you friends and hit the road.

13. Binge watch Netflix

Watch a new show. Netflix has a lot to choose from.

14. Spend time with your family

They may annoy you and embarrass you but they love you and they probably miss you while you're gone.

15. Watch home videos

You're best moments may live on a video somewhere in your house and if not on a video maybe in an old picture album. Go dig them out and bask in the cuteness you were.

16. Rearrange your bedroom

It may be time for a fresh look at an old space.

17. Join a gym

Get fit over the summer and create some habits to last. It's more fun if you drag a friend with you.

18. Research graduate schools

Okay, so this may not be fun but if you plan on getting a master's degree it's never too soon to start looking. And you never know maybe you'll have fun dreaming about the future.

19. Catch up with old friends

They knew you and loved you through your awkward years, go show them you appreciate them and talk about all the weird stuff you did in high school.

20. Go to a local concert

Maybe you'll discover your new favorite band. At the least you'll probably make some fun memories.

21. Spend time with your siblings

Spend time actually getting to know them, maybe they've changed since you've been away. Maybe they even MISSED you!

22. Treat yourself to a dinner out

While a home-cooked meal is amazing enjoy the restaurants you may have missed while you were at school.

23. Go to the library

It may not sound like the funnest place on earth, your local library is really an untapped resource. Because not only can you get some new books, they also have movies, music and sometimes computer games for you to check out. They may even hold some summer events that you might want to check out. (Get it, check out, because it's a library?)

I'm sure, like me, many of you received lots of gift cards over the holidays. After working retail seasonally, here are a few tips that I learned in order to make the employees at your favorite store just a little happier and not want to charge you extra on your purchase for being awful. Here are some times when you should be nicer to retail workers than you actually are!

5 Untold Struggles Of The Short Friend

I'm the Short Friend. I've been the Short Friend since about the seventh grade. I'm the one who stands in the front of the photos, gets made fun of for their height, and still shops in the kids department.

This article is not for the Almost Short Friends, i.e. the 5'3" and 5'4" Friends. No no, this is for the Actually Short Friends, i.e. the Barely Scraping 5'1" and shorter Short Friends.

11 Things All Call Center Workers Can Empathize With Better Than Anyone
Youtube

This semester I started my journey as a member of my University's Alumni Outreach Team. This means a lot of things, but primarily it means that I get to make phone calls to parents and alumni two nights a week to update contact information, collect things like business cards and volunteer hours, and even ask for money.
