22 Ways To Say I Love You

Saying "I love you" doesn't always have to be spoken aloud for us to hear it. There's plenty of ways to tell someone you love them without actually saying the words. I found that it's pretty easy to get caught up in life's everyday adventures and over time it becomes even easier to forget to tell your family and friends how much they mean to you. Here's 22 ways to remind your loved ones that you really do love them without flat out saying it.

1. Surprise them with their favorite candy.

Everyone has a special place in their heart for a Hershey's chocolate bar.

2. Bring them flowers.

Who doesn't love getting a dozen roses?

3. Plan a night out (or in).

Go out for ice cream or stay in with hot cocoa - regardless, just spend some time together.

4. Make a card.

Store bought cards can be impersonal - make one yourself instead.

5. Write a note/letter.

I find that writing helps me express how I really feel which can go a long way in telling someone you love them.

6. Make dinner.

The other day I decided to throw some burgers and hot dogs on the grill for my family and my mom's reaction was priceless. "Food tastes so much better when you don't have to cook it yourself," she said.

7. Plan a picnic.

Make a sandwich, grab some chips, bring a pitcher of iced tea and have a relaxing lunch outside on a sunny day.

8. Watch their favorite movie with them.

They even did it in Friends With Benefits.

9. Compliment them.

A simple "you look beautiful" is sure to brighten anyone's day.

10. Do a chore.

No one likes loading/unloading the dishwasher or mowing the lawn. Show someone you love them by doing it for them once in a while.

11. Send an old picture together.

Pictures are a great way to reminisce and show someone how much you cherish them.

12. Make them laugh/smile.

Laughter creates heartwarming, positive memories.

13. Make your hug a little longer.

Take an extra second or two to make their hug feel a little more special.

14. Give them your jacket/sweatshirt.

For some reason wearing someone else's jacket when you're cold always seems warmer.

15. Wish them luck.

Whether it's their first ever interview or the start of a new job, remind them that they're going to do great.

16. Give them the last slice of pizza.

Even when you really want it.

17. Let them win the argument.

Life is short and there's no time to spend it fighting, so just tell them they're right this time.

18. Hold their hair back when they're sick.

Whether they're throwing up with the flu or drank too much at the party, no one likes to be alone when they feel like this (even if they tell you otherwise).

19. Ask for their opinion.

Asking someone for advice tends to make them feel important and valued, it'll show them that what they think matters to you.

20. Show up unexpectedly.

Picture their face when you walk through the door or the moment they spot you standing on the sidelines from afar.

21. Brush their hair.

I still think back on how much I loved when my mom used to brush my hair for me when I was little.

22. Open the car door.

For your girlfriend. For your mom. For your sister. I'm not saying everyday, but once in a while would be nice.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
