1. Going out with your friends is sometimes nerve wracking.

2. Puns are your thing.

3. You're a wild party animal.


4. You know how to take time for yourself.

5. Sarcasm is the only way you can communicate.

6. When you were a senior in high school, and everyone had their future planned out except you.

7. But you handle situations like the mature adult you are.


8. When you go to work, you're always stuck working with that one person you hate.

9. You usually don't know what's happening most of the time.

10. Sometimes you say stuff out loud when you probably shouldn't.

11. And when you do start talking, it's hard to stop.


12. You wish you could describe yourself as cool, calm, and collected, but you know that's not true.

13. You can't dance, but you do anyways.

14. Because embarrassing yourself is inevitable.

15. You think of the small things in life.

16. You find it hard to care about things.

17. But there are rare moments when you do.

18. Forgetting to think before speaking is a true talent of yours.


19. You're not good at telling people how you feel.


20. It's a constant wonder why you don't have a ton of friends.

21. So you ask the few friends you have for advice.


22. But really, in the end, you love yourself anyway and that's all that matters.

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.
