22 Times Taylor Swift Had It All Right

Among all the hate, Swift has not stopped staying positive, and to celebrate 10 years of this music icon, I would like to dedicate this article to my favorite memories of her

I realize that Taylor Swift has been getting a bad reputation lately and that most of her fan base is fading because of her interactions with Kanye and recent split with not only Calvin Harris, but also Tom Hiddleston; however, I am not going to talk about that. I want to take time to appreciate things Swift has said in interviews, the way she acts, and the poetic justice Taylor has written into her songs that most people have overlooked or forgot about.

1. The song "Ronan"

I'm going to start with her most underrated and most emotional song ever. "Ronan" is about a young 4-year-old who passed away from cancer. Swift followed his mother's blog and read about him almost every night. After he passed, she took his mom's words and made them into one of the most hauntingly beautiful songs written.

2. "I Almost Do"

Because who can't relate to just wanting to pick up their phone and call their ex and tell them what they should have done differently? My favorite lyric in this is "I can't say 'hello' to you, and risk another goodbye."

3. Swift "dancing"

She takes her crap for her moves at the award shows, but you have to admit that she has no fear and she truly loves dancing like no one is watching.

4. Swift DANCING

However, if you have ever been to a Taylor performance, she can dance like crazy! Highly recommend watching her during "I Knew You Were Trouble" on her Red Tour!

5. Thug Story

Most might not remember this iconic rap, but T Swift and T-Pain did collaborate, and they made one of my favorite YouTube videos of all time.

6. Hair

Need I say more?

7. IKYWT

By far one her best songs, and something you have to watch live, Red or 1989 Tour. The song is chock-full of poetic lines, such as "Pretends he doesn't know/ that he's the reason why/ you're drowning," or "The blame is on me." Many ask "why would you date someone if you knew they would be trouble?" Swift answers this in the voice over at the beginning of the music video, which is also a must-watch.

8. The Squad

Admit it, even if you despise Taylor, you have been envious of her 4th of July parties, her amazing Red Carpet friends photos, or the stars that get on stage with her at her concerts.

9. Hair

So much flipping.

10. Felicia

When "Valentine's Day" was released and the world got introduced to Felicia, Swift's hilarious character.

11. Her Friendship with Ed Sheeran

In my personal opinion, the only thing cooler than being friends with Taylor? Being friends with Ed!

12. Production value

Going to a Taylor Swift concert is like going to an indoor fireworks show, complete with smoke and special effects. New renditions of old songs. Special guests. Sometimes, if you're lucky, there is even rain on stage. There isn't a bad seat in the house.

13. Hair

I feel as though I've mentioned this?

14. CATS

I mean, how could you not love Dr. Meredith Grey Swift or Detective Olivia Benson Swift?

15. Fifteen

This song carried so many lessons that helped young girls, like me, through high school. Lessons about love, friendship, and how to survive the mean girls. This is something every freshman should listen to before the first day.

16. Last Kiss

By far one of the most soul-crushing, tragically honest, break up songs ever. If you are going through a break up, odds are you will cry while listening to this. But it's such a beautifully well written song that it won't matter. The best part is that it is on "Speak Now," an album she wrote all by herself.

17. Hair!

Fabulous flip while playing piano!

18. Performing in the rain

When she had the words to "Should've Said No" carved into the rain, my middle school self fell in love with this curly haired country singer, and I still get chills from it.

19. On-stage costume changes

"You Belong With Me," "Should've Said No," "IKYWT," "Blank Space" and many more, she leaves us speechless!

20. Her excitement at award shows

I'm pretty sure she gets more excited than some of the people that actually win. Favorite moment? "This is the highlight of my senior year!" -Swift.

21. HAIR!

I mean, come on!

22. Our anthem

As every Swifty knows, "Long Live" was written for us. To us, and by Taylor alone. It shows how much she loves our support, our dancing, our singing, and us. I still get chills every time I listen to it. And I'll take a moment to promise you this, that I'll stand by you forever.

Thank you for inspiring me, Taylor, thank you for your music. Thank you for your love. I hope I can tell you all this in person, as I pet your cats and bake cookies with you. And I cannot wait until Taylor Swift 6!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
