1. "This is senior year. I can do it."

It's a bittersweet mix of excitement and nostalgia.

2. ...and then senioritis is also a real thing.

Yes, Netflix. I'm still here.

3. Waking up for 8 am classes never got easier.

4. And there's always that one gen ed that you take with a bunch of overzealous freshmen.

5. ...and sometimes you realize you're struggling more than they are.

6. "What if I fail? What if I'm that one senior who failed a gen ed and sits in the audience at commencement?"

7. On top of homework, you also have to start doing real-life things like apply for jobs and internships.

Yeah, no. One or the other, dude.

8. You also realize that you have to budget to afford a car, rent for a grown-up place, gas, and groceries within the next few months.

9. The engagements are EVERYWHERE.

10. But you're a strong, independent woman.

11. You kind of stop worrying as much about what your peers might be thinking, cuz goshdarnit you're all in the same boat.

12. In fact, even your flirting gets extra confident--if you fail, you only have months of awkward potential-encounters instead of years.

I said more confident. Not better.

13. Remember when you said, "This year, I'm going to maintain a normal, adult sleeping schedule"?

14. Since you're paying for your own groceries, sometimes free food is what you look forward to most about break.

15. Sometimes dinner is a weird combination of whatever you have left in the cupboard.

16. When breaks do come around, you bask in every bit of it. They will soon be nonexistent.

17. And then your friends and family burst your bubble by asking, "So what do you have lined up for after graduation?"

18. So you start going into grown-up job interviews like:

19. ...and sometimes coming out of them like:

20. Come on. You only need one that's like:

21. And you know, even though you're growing up and becoming an old person...

22. You've made it this far, and look at all the good times you've had. Maybe grad school isn't such a scary idea.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
