It is nearing the end of the semester, and everyone knows what that means. You are graduating from college or high school, moving onto the next level of schooling, or maybe transferring to a new school. Summer is approaching, which means time to try new things before coming back to another year or even starting your life with your brand new degree.

Here are new things to do during the summer before returning to another mundane year:

1. Go to a concert.

Pick your favorite artist, grab a friend, and be able to say that you have a summer highlight.

2. Take up a new hobby.

Whether it is crochet, painting, hiking, or even bike riding, take the chance and learn some new skills.

3. Go to a midnight premiere.

A lot of times people don't want to go to a midnight premiere because of the late times. Speaking from experience, it is a whole other experience considering that it's filled mostly with people who are fans of the movie.

4. Go to an amusement park.

Grab some friends, and go on the scariest ride there. Learn to conquer your fears.

5. Attend or host a bonfire.

Who doesn't love a giant fire?

6. Go to the beach.

Living in Jersey, at least every other weekend you can find me down the shore.

7. Go kayaking.

See how much you can trust your friends by being in a little boat together.

8. Go camping.

Who doesn't love nature and animals?

9. DIY with your BFFs.

Make some matching tie-dye.

10. Go to the State Fair.

Carnival food, rides, games, prizes! All in fun with your friends!

11. Go to a diner at 1 in the morning.

Late night conversations can be fun and interesting.

12. Take a walk around town with your friends and see what your town really has to offer.

You're so used to living there that you pass some hidden gems every day without even realizing it.

13. Take a road trip/vacation with your friends or family.

Just you, them, and open road.

14. Throw a picnic.

Make it Pinterest worthy.

15. Go berry picking.

Who doesn't love fresh hand-picked berries? You can't get more fresh than straight off the bush.

16. Get involved in a summer romance.

Find that special someone... for the summer.

17. Learn a new language.

French, Spanish, German, Italian, Latin, etc. The list is endless when it comes to languages.

18. Throw a pool party.

Swimming, friends, and day in the sun.

19. Throw a sleepover.

Meet up with those friends you haven't seen all school year. I am pretty sure they miss you, and this is a way to catch up.

20. Spend time with the family.

Time goes by so fast, and if you have younger siblings, they grow up so fast as well.

21. Go to a food truck festival.

So many different foods to try!

22. Learn to do a gymnastic trick.

Backflip, cartwheel, round off, front flip, etc. It may come in handy some day. You never know.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

In the 12 years since it went off the air, "Friends" continues to be adored by millions. 11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
