1. Laugh at yourself

2. Always eat dessert

3. Study what you're passionate about

4. Serve people on a regular basis

5. Drink lots of water

6. Read for fun

7. Smile at people you don't know

8. Buy things on sale

9. Find a form of exercise you love and make that your thing

10. Don't compare yourself to others (easier said than done)

11. Go to Chick Fil A at least once a week

12. Learn how to brew your own coffee

13. Embrace your personality (whatever it may be) and give yourself the freedom to live into that.

14. Pray in all circumstances: joy, hardship, anxiety, gratitude.

15. Love your mom

16. Tell people how much they mean to you

17. Compliment strangers

18. Use scrunchies

19. Celebrate life

20. Be bold. Be humble.

21. Go for walks

22. Don't be ashamed of what you believe in. I love Jesus and He loves us, and that's pretty incredible.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
