Being a gamer is hard. Sometimes you hit an impossible level, or your character dies repeatedly and you feel like throwing your controller across the room. It's even more difficult for a female gamer. We hear nonsense every day that makes us feel unwelcome in the gaming community. If you want to make your favorite female gamer happy, here's twenty-two statements you should probably avoid.

1. You're not allowed to game.

2. Sweetie, did your boyfriend get you into this?

3. I bet you don't even bother to learn combos. You probably just button smash.

4. You game? What do you play, something cute like Cooking Mama?

5. If you really like that game, name five characters.

6. I bet you only game to get the attention of boys.

7. Girl, it is so sexy that you game!

8. I can't believe there's a girl in the online party...let me proceed to verbally harass you via headset.

9. You play like a girl!

10. Don't you want to be an adorable class..like a sorceress?

11. Funny, your gamertag is so masculine.

12. Alright, I'll go easy on you.

13. Please stop wearing gamer merch for attention.

14. Name five facts about your "favorite character".

15. That character's a guy. Stop trying to cosplay as him.

16. Your cosplay is too sexy because of your body.

17. You're just wearing that cosplay for attention.

18. Do you even know what XP stands for?

19. Is your console pink?

20. Is your controller also pink?

21. Why are you in Gamestop? Did you get lost on your way to Sephora?

22. Are you buying this game as a gift?

If you are guilty of saying any of the above, I'd suggest you give a female gamer a call. Maybe you'll learn something. But she will probably just hang up on you.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
