22 Reasons 'How I Met Your Mother' Is Squad Goals

After watching only one season of the hit show, "How I Met Your Mother," I was already hooked. The show hits you in all of the right feels—you get comedy, romance, heartbreak, friendship, family, real life experiences and lots and lots of stories. The group of friends consists of two girls and three boys—a couple and three singles (technically Ted and Barney both end up dating Robin, but anyhow), and their bond and friendship is definitely one for the books. Needless to say, I finished the whole nine=season series on Netflix over the course of a month and a half. The entire time I watched the show, I was obsessed with their friend group dynamic, and I have officially decided that I want that in my life. So ladies and gents, here we have it: "How I Met Your Mother" as squad goals.

1. The way they handle each other's feelings.

This crew is known for dramatically acting things out, and no one ever misses a beat when working on another friend's pun or joke.

2. They understand when it's time to celebrate.

Whether it is the birth of Lily and Marshall's baby or the ending of one of Ted's horrible relationships.

3. They know it is more than okay to be emotional.

Having feelings is great. Having a lot of feelings isn't bad either. Having too many feelings at your best friend's wedding may be a slight problem.

4. They understand what love is, and they all aspire to have it.

Because who doesn't want a relationship like Lily and Marshall?

5. Good friends are always watching.

Whether it is to keep you from texting your crazy ex or to keep you from spilling a secret, they are always watching you and keeping you in line.

6. The same things freak you out.

Is he really wearing cargo shorts?! Oh no she did not start dating our arch enemy.

7. They help you try to understand confusing texts from the opposite sex.

Two kissy face emojis and a tree emoji? What on Earth could she be talking about?

8. You can ask them your most obscene questions.

No topic is off limits in this friend group.

9. They are not afraid to call it like they see it.

Sorry, not sorry! What the heck is that chick wearing?!

10. They enjoy eating as much as you do.

Oh, the rich smell of an orange in the morning.

11. They love hearing your stories as much as you love telling them.

Who doesn't love a great audience when telling a story?

12. You don't have to be speaking to be hanging out.

In this day in age, who really needs to speak when you can just sit in the same room and text each other?

13. They aren't afraid to tell you when you are out of line.

Love you man, but you are kind of being a huge jerk right now.

14. They get excited about your good news also.

True friends get excited for other friends' good times also.

15. They will give you credit where credit is due.

Credit is only a fist-bump away from you knowing you did a damn good job.

16. They will drop whatever they are doing to be there with you.

Good friends will always be there for you when you need them.

17. Weird handshakes and dances are a definite.

Have you really bonded unless you have done stuff in-sync before?

18. They will be immature with you when the time calls for it.

Everyone needs to act like a kid again sometimes, right?

19. You are never alone in a risky situation.

Don't we all need a Canadian friend like Robin?

20. They aren't afraid to be themselves.

Own it, Marshall, own it!

21. They are generous.

Spread the wealth, people, spread the wealth!

22. At the end of the day, they are exactly who you want to sit around and drink a beer with and watch the game.

Who wouldn't want friends like them? Honestly.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.
