Sullivan's Island is home to a panoramic view of the Charleston Penninsula and to Fort Moultrie, which is a military fort that is well-known for its part in the Revolutionary War.

11. Mount Pleasant Pier & Memorial Waterfront Park

15. H.L. Hunley Conservation Lab
The H.L. Hunley submarine is famously known for having been attacked and presumably destroyed off the coast of Charleston during the Civil War in 1864. The ruins of the submarine were finally discovered off of the coast of the city in August of 2000. The craft is preserved thanks to the Friends of the Hunley, and tours of the H.L. Hunley Conservation Lab are available weekly.
