22 Bible Verses to Help Get You Through the Day
Grace Esbensen

College is like a roller coaster. One minute you are at the top of the ride and everything is great, then suddenly you drop down a hill that comes out of nowhere and now you're spiraling down. You panic. And think it is nearly impossible to get back up. However, you know that even at your lowest, you will not always stay there. You do things that make you happy, and if you are anything like me, you turn to friends and quotes to get you through the tough times. Here are some bible verses that I found very helpful.

1. "He heals the broken hearted." -Psalm 147:3

2. "For with God nothing shall be impossible." -Luke 1:37

3. "She is clothed in strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future." -Proverbs 31:25

4. "God is within her, she will not fall." -Psalms 46:5

5. "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." -Matthew 6:34

7. "The pain that you've been feeling can't compare to the joy that is coming." -Romans 8:18

9. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Jesus Christ." -Philippians 4:6-7

10. "By the grace of God, I am what I am." -1 Corinthians 15:10

11. "Whenever you feel unloved, unimportant or insecure, remember to whom you belong." -Ephesians :19-22

12. "You are loved more than you will ever know by someone who died to know you." -Romans 5:6

13. "Blessed is she who believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her." -Luke 1:45

14. "I loved you at your darkest." -Romans 5:8

15. "You are beautiful, for you fearfully and wonderfully made."-Psalm 139:14

16. "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." -Proverbs 4:23

17. "Tears are prayers too. They travel to God when we can't speak." -Psalm 56:8

18. "The Lord is greater than the giants you face." -1 John 4:4

19. "Love never gives up." -1 Corinthians 13

20. "The old is gone, the new is here." -2 Corinthians 5:17

21. "Do not be misled: bad company corrupts good character."

-1 Corinthians 15:33

22. "You are altogether beautiful, my darling, beautiful in every way."

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
