Sweet 21—it is finally your time. The day that you have been dreaming of for the longest time is finally here. You can now go into all the bars, and you can even get an alcoholic beverage with dinner! But, why is it such a big deal to turn 21? If you're currently enrolled in a university, and you're not 21, odds are you have dreamed about turning 21 since you've seen all of your friends do the same. Turning 21 is a big milestone, especially if you live in a place where there is a bar is on every corner. Here are some reasons it is a big deal to turn 21, and why everyone makes a big deal about it.

1. The big reason: you're finally legal!

Of course, when turning 21, you can finally legally drink alcohol. Which, you have to act like it's your first time trying it, even though you've probably been "testing" alcohol since you were at least 18.

2. Duh, it's your birthday

Well, now everyone has even more reason to celebrate you. However, this time, anyone can buy you a drink because you're new to this whole alcohol thing. You don't even feel bad that you have no idea who the person is that is wishing you happy birthday!

3. You can finally drink whatever you want

Had a rough night and would really enjoy a glass of wine at dinner? Sure, no problem. Wanting to go shot-for-shot with someone just because you can? Totally. Now that you're 21, you no longer have to say, "Can I have a mock-tail?"

4. You can go into a liquor store, and not just to go to the bathroom.

No longer are you haunted at the sign that says "We Card Everyone" that hangs on every liquor store door. You can walk in, and even purchase something. When the clerk asks for your license, you hand him your now vertical form of identification.

5. No more "kids' table"

Going to dinner and waiting for a table can be a pain. But, guess what? Most of the time, the bar seating area is wide open, without any wait. You can now sit at the bar, and your feet will hang and everything. Also, you can watch the bartender pour your drink. Which—come on—is pretty cool.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
