A bucket list to venture out.

In honor of my 20th year of life (on July 30, in case you wanted to send your girl a gift), I’ve decided to start a challenge/bucket list for myself. I've hit many milestones in my lifetime from the sweet 16, the legal voting age of 18, graduating high school and going off to college, to becoming an auntie to three amazing kids, while gaining and losing people in my life. This year has been especially hard for me with college, best friend problems, my first long-distant relationship and many more other situations, but I have realized that those experiences have only made me stronger and that I now look forward to creating and having new experiences--of course on the more happy side of things this time. Now, your goals don’t have to mirror mine, but if you’re looking for a guideline feel free to follow this one. Here is my bucket list. I hope you all enjoy!

1. Go on a vacation, with family, friends, or heck even yourself!

2. Dedicate a week to myself this summer to disconnect and RELAX. Meaning (as little as possible) social media and technological ( so go camping in my case).

3. Take more pictures. At least a few selfies a week (we won’t look like this forever y’all).

4. Spend more quality time with my favorite girls, my feisty grandma and my Mama.

5. Be a better friend.

6. Take a boxing class or a pole dancing class.

7. Be more grateful even for the littlest things.

8. Laugh at myself more because Lord knows that I do plenty to embarrass myself.

9. Get a new piercing/ or a tattoo.

10. Learn to cook a fancy dinner like Martha Stewart, or Rachel Ray makes.

11. Work out at least once a week, whether it is just walking a mile or two or actually going to the gym.

12. Read at least 100 books before the year is up (that's going to be beyond easy for me).

13. Go on a road trip; have set destination or just where ever you end and pull a Dr. Sues "Oh the places you'll go."

14. Be kind to myself. I haven't been fair to myself or my body and it's time to change that.

15. Join more organizations; the more you get invovled the more friends you make.

16. Expand my fashion taste/wardrobe that doesn't include sweat pants, and tights.

17. Do DIY crafts I like from Pinterest (three down, a million to go).

18. Go to a foreign country.

19. Go to a club (yep, I know. I KNOW, leave me alone…).

20. Get outside of my bubble more often.

21. Be happy.

You can do many more things than the ones on your bucket list. I know I will, and make every day a fun day. My 20 years of living have been a blast and I've accomplished a lot, so here is to another year of life, and time to make this year count more!

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?
