1. Your friends all love her like their own mom

They love her so much that they even call her "mom".

2. You never go hungry

From baked goods to homemade lasagna, there's no way your mom is going to let you even feel an ounce of hunger.

3. She's always there to listen to juicy gossip

She's always willing to hear you vent about how Chad from chemistry stood up Ashley and hung out with Julia instead.

4. She's your biggest supporter

Even if she's not a fan of whatever you're doing, she will always be there to support you every step of the way. Who needs a fan section when you have your mom?

5. You get the weirdest texts from her

I know she'd much rather talk to me via a phone call, but I totally appreciate the effort being made to communicate in a more "modern" way.

6. People always remind you of how similar you are

Yes, I do realize that I got her looks and sense of humor. Thank you for being the 500th person to mention it, I totally almost forgot!

7. She remembers all of your friends' names

Whether it's a friend of mine from the preschool days who she has known forever or a college friend of mine that she's never actually met, she somehow remembers all of their names and how they're relevant in my life.

8. She's strict for the most part, but it's because she wants the best for you

The curfew in high school wasn't because she hated you, it's because she loves you and doesn't want anything bad to happen to her own child. She wants the best for you.

9. You've grown into a wonderful young adult because of her

She has taught you all of the important things in life, and because of her, you have grown into a kind, respectful young adult.

10. If you ever get in a fight, the two of you are cool within minutes

Occasionally you butt heads, but in the end, you two act like nothing ever happened and are back to being best friends.

11. She never fails to put a smile on your face

You can't help but smile when you're with her, not even on your worst days.

12. She's always right

The whole "mother knows best" thing is actually real. No one knows you better than the woman who raised you. You can try to deny it all you want, but in the end, you'll realize that she was right the entire time.

13. You can spend the entire day together running errands and not get sick of it

From getting an oil change to going shopping, nothing is boring when you're with your mom.

14. She's cooler than any other mom you know

Yeah, your mom may seem somewhat like a fun time, but have you met mine?

15. If you need anything fixed, she's got your back

Whether it's a broken jacket zipper or a pair of pants that needs to be hemmed, you know your mom can have it fixed in no time.

16. You can always count on her to give the best advice

Need a little motivational speech? Your mom's got you.

17. She brags about you to all her friends

You could do one successful thing in your whole life and she would still brag to all of her friends about how proud she is of you.

18. No one will have a relationship with you that's stronger than you and your mom's

Relationships come and go, but not yours. Your bond will never be broken.

19. She's always there if you need a shoulder to cry on

Whether it's a breakup or a stressful day at school, she's always there to comfort you and do whatever it takes to make you happy again.

20. She will never stop loving you

It's hard to find a love that's as strong as one between a mother and her child.

21. You can only hope that one day you'll be just like her

She's your role model. If you become even half of the person she is, you'll feel like you have accomplished the world.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
