One Tree Hill aired on the WB (now called the CW) on September 23, 2013 and it changed my life the day I started watching it. I didn't start watching the show until two years after it had ended. It was in my Netflix queue for a while and I pondered watching it. Then one day someone tweeted about it and I decided that it was time I checked it out. The show starts when they are juniors in high school which at the time I started watching it, so was I. I immediately fell in love with it and was obsessed with all the characters, the drama, and the romance. It inspired me in my life to stop waiting and start doing. The characters follow their dreams and hearts but also experience grief and pain. The show is always going up and down but that's exactly how life is. You have amazing moments and you have earth shattering moments. Here's 21 quotes from the show that will inspire you.

1. "At the end of the day, all you really own in this world is your integrity."

2. “It was a comet. The boy saw the comet and he felt as though his life had meaning. And when it went away, he waited his entire life for it to come back to him. It was more than just a comet because of what it brought to his life: direction, beauty, meaning. There are many who couldn't understand, and sometimes he walked among them. But even in his darkest hours, he knew in his heart that someday it would return to him, and his world would be whole again... And his belief in God and love and art would be re-awakened in his heart. The boy saw the comet and suddenly his life had meaning.”

3. “It's hard when you miss people. But you know if you miss them, that means you're lucky. It means you had someone special in your life, someone worth missing.”

4. "Every song has a CODA, a final movement. Whether it fades out or crashes away, every song ends. Is that any reason not to enjoy the music? The truth is, there is nothing to be afraid of. It's just life.”

5. "If you had a friend you knew you’d never see again, what would you say? If you could do one last thing for someone you love, what would it be? Say it, do it, don’t wait. Nothing lasts forever.”

6. “It's the oldest story in the world. One day you're 17 planning for someday and then quietly, without you ever noticing, someday today. And then someday yesterday. And this is your life.”

7. “Most people are stronger than they know. They just forget to believe in it sometimes.”

8. “Happiness is not a destination. It is a mood, it is not permanent. It comes and goes and if people thought that way then maybe people would find happiness more often.”

9. "It sucks being the footnote in someone else’s love story."

10. "I gave you my heart and that's all I can give you, and if that's not enough, then I'm not enough."

11. "Did you feel it change? I mean how many moments in life can you point to and say 'that's when it all changed'?"

12. "We fell in love, and at some point, the people we love forgot to love us back."

13."It's not what you say, it's what you do. Don’t like the person you’ve become? Then do something about it, no one’s gonna do it for you."

14. "You don't just give up when it gets hard, that's when you fight harder.”

15. "I think I miss what I thought we could be."

16. "I realized how empty my world was without you in it, my old life was no longer capable of making me happy, not without you."

17. "Sometimes people have to cry out all their tears to make room for a heart full of smiles."

18. "Let me tell you something about love, it doesn't knock often. And when it does, you have to let it in."

19. “It never seemed like you missed me and I guess because of that I stopped missing you.”

20. "What's worse: not getting everything you wished for or getting it but finding out it's not enough?"

21. "Believe that love is out there. Believe that dreams come true every day, because they do."

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
