New year, same college routine. Many of us are returning, or have returned, to college from our holiday breaks. We say our goodbyes to our families and make our way back to our second home. Although we did genuinely miss our roommates, I mean who else would eat a second dinner with you at 2 a.m., we all know that not all of the excitement that we show on our first day back is real. I mean, did you really miss that person who you met one week before break? There are so many thoughts that actually go on in our heads on our first day back on campus so I decided to make a list about what we were all probably really thinking:

1. Who TF is that?

2. New year, new me

3. Just kidding, I still do not like her

4. Wait, I thought you graduated.

5. Why is this person hugging me?

6. Wow I totally did not miss this place

7. OMG FRIENDS

8. Please be a syllabus class

9. Of course he’s in my class

10. Should I just drop this class now?

11. Wow, these books are so expensive

12. There goes my Christmas money

13. Is this degree even worth it?

14. Maybe the cafeteria at least upgraded their food

15. Yeah, that didn’t happen

16. I’ll just eat some Hot Cheetos at home

17. He did not just text me

18. No, I did not miss you

19. Okay, I’m going to start working out again

20. Lol just kidding

21. So when does spring break start?

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.
