Moms are a special person, whom we can literally tell every waking detail (well most) about our lives, and have her not judge. She is the one you call when something exciting happens, when your roommates are pissing you off, and when you can't decide if the blue top looks better than the black. Here are 21 things that you typically tell her that solely a mother would truly care about.

1. "Oh my God, Mom! I learned how to make chicken today!"

2. "I have so much to do this week."

3. "Guess what I had for dinner" *Proceeds to tell her everything you ate for dinner and how exactly you made it.*

4."What is the difference between cold and hot water when I wash my clothes?"

5."I slept so bad this past week."

6. "Can I wash my comforter?"

7. "Ugh, I just don't feel self-confident today."

8. "My throat feels weird, what kind of medicine should I take?"

9. "Hey! I'm walking to class, what's up, I'm bored."

10. "I literally have no money." *Prays that she will offer to give me $20*

11. "I just organized my closet!"

12. "I had the healthiest lunch today, you would be so proud."

13. "You have to hear the cutest thing that my dog did today."

14. "I finished all my homework before it was due, so now I'm just watching 'New Girl' on Netflix."

15. "The exam I took was really hard, and I studied so much. So I guess we will just see how I do next week."

16. "How long are you supposed to bake a potato for in the oven?"

17. "I bought a new Swiffer last week and it's so cool."

19. "I've started eating granola bars for my snack in between class now."

20. "The weather is so nice out today."

21. "I had the craziest dream last night."

mu bucket list

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2023, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

If you go to or went to Kent State, then more than likely you have done or will do some of these things.

1. You’ve slipped and fallen on the ice at least once.

The winters at Kent are brutal, and while the heated sidewalks and some great snow boots are always a help, there’s no chance you won’t bust it on the ice at least once in your four plus years at school.

Christmas is literally so close. We can almost taste it. But there is just one thing standing between you and the big day: FINALS. It's not the studying, lack of sleep, last minute cram sessions or crappy food intake that is the worst... but the fact that you cannot focus because, well, CHRISTMAS. How do professors expect you to focus when Christmas is soooo soon. For all my fellow Christmas lovers out there, I feel your pain.
