21 Things That Happen When Your Best Friend Gets A Boyfriend

1. You’re initially super excited for her.

You’ve been rooting for them and waiting for this to happen for a while now. FINALLY!

2. You listen to all of her cute stories.

She’s so excited about the new relationship, and you’re equally as excited to hear all about it.

3. You enjoy third wheeling and getting to know him.

Your best friend is super into him, wouldn’t that mean you will like him too? You can all be BFFs!

4. Now he's always around when you two hang out.

But you deal with it because you want to hang out with your friend.

5. You feel them getting bothered by your constant presence.

6. Their never-ending love and happiness starts to make you nauseated.

Seeing people smile, hug, and laugh all of the time is emotionally exhausting.

7. They start hanging out by themselves more.

That’s okay, right? It’s their relationship, not yours. You're fine. Totally fine.

8. You start to get lonely, but want to keep it cool.

It's no big deal, really.

9. You cry.

10. You try to make some new friends to hang out with while she’s busy.

But it’s hard to find a bond like you and your best friend have.

11. You try to take up new hobbies to distract yourself.

But no amount of button collecting, skeet shooting, bee keeping, or knitting alone keeps you from wishing she was doing senseless activities right there beside you.

12. You cry more.

13. You think about getting a new pet.

Man's best friend, right?

14. You listen to Taylor Swift a lot.

THEY'LL TELL YOU I'M INSANE.

15. You cry to Taylor Swift a lot.

16. You consider breaking them up and begging her to come back to you.

17. You invest in a Netflix series.

This way you can focus all of your attention and emotion on the lives of the characters, while simultaneously avoiding any problems in your own.

18. You spend some fun time by yourself.

Yeah, "fun."

19. You cry.

20. You realize you might be acting (a little) dramatic.

21. You love and accept the relationship because you love and accept your best friend.

All jokes aside, there isn’t anything you wouldn’t do for your best friend, even if that means splitting the time you have with her with this new boy. The only thing that truly matters is that she is in a happy and healthy relationship and that you’re there to support her throughout it. After all, just because she found someone who cares about her doesn't mean you're any less important to her, and you can only hope he treats her well and loves her even half as much as you do.

And, well, if he doesn't...

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
