1. Anchor Everything

Do I need another anchor addition? No. But am I going to get it? Duh.

2. You’ve mΔsteΓed finding words with an A and R

pΔΓadise, dΔmn pΓoud, ΔnchoΓ, heΔΓt, the list goes on and on...

3. Your favorite colors will always be bronze, pink and blue

When you’re decorating your room and you realize the color scheme is bronze, pink, and blue…

4. You most likely have a picture with your sisters captioned “They keep me anchored”

It’s the most basic of Delta Gamma captions, but you wouldn’t be a DG if you didn’t have it somewhere on social media.

5. George Banta will forever be your mcm

How could you not be obsessed with him?

6. There may or may not be an anchor in your Twitter/Insta bio

We all know we added that anchor the second after we received our bids.

7. All your sisters inspire you to Do Good

Our sisters are truly amazing women that inspire us to be the best version of ourselves possible.

8. Left hand always

There’s no other way to salute.

9. Your family and friends outside of DG buy you anchor stuff

I can’t even begin to tell you how many texts I’ve gotten that read, “This reminded me of you” and of course, it’s something with an anchor on it.

10. Literally always prepared for anything nautical themed

And the anchor obsession continues.

11. Anchormen are life

They love DG as much as us and support us 24/7! What’s not to love?

12. Nothing gets you pumped like Service for Sight

Nothing.

13. DG reminds you to always have hope

It represents who we are.

14. You probably have a sailor hat somewhere in your closet

I have 3 and I’m honestly not sure why?

15. Half of your wardrobe has an anchor or Delta Gamma (or both) on it

I wear my DG shirts so often I've started to wonder what I wore before I was in a sorority.

16. You look forward to getting Anchora every month

I don’t know how I started getting them, but I’m not complaining.

17. Throw what you know, wherever you go

The salute isn’t a trend, it’s a way of life.

18. Slight obsession with the Delta Gamma Shirt Swap Page

There are some really great deals on there!

19. Spring semester is your favorite because of Anchor Splash

The weird tan lines are worth it because it’s everyone’s favorite event of the year.

20. Cream colored roses have a special place in your heart

They’re just so perfect!

21. You thank your lucky stars that Anna, Eva, and Mary were at the Lewis School for Girls back in 1873

Sorry you couldn’t go home for Christmas, but thank you for giving me my home away from home.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
