21 Things to Do Over Christmas Break
Huffington Post

Christmas Break is a pretty magical thing, not only because it is jam-packed with family, friends, Christmas, and New Year's, but also because it provides a much-needed break from the hustle and bustle of school, work, etc. However, with a large amount of free time comes the big need of finding something to fill it. Some find this job easy. Others find it a little more difficult. Either way, the following is my personal list of things to do over the break when a fit of boredom hits.

1. Sleep.

You've got a lot of that to catch up on.

2. Nap.

Aka an excuse to sleep some more.

3. Eat.

Enjoy a home-cooked meal. Or at least enjoy a paid-for-by-the-fam meal.

4. Eat the leftovers.

Get ready for the holiday leftovers. They're the best.

5. Hug your family.

Even it hasn't been that long since you've seen them, still give them a big ole hug. It's good to be home for a little while, and you know they've missed you.

6. Go see your high school friends.

Go meet. Go eat. Catch up. It will almost feel like you were never even separated in the first place.

7. Go visit your college friends.

While you've spent an entire semester or more with these people, it's still hard to be away from them, even for a month. Go visit them to make the separation a little less painful.

8. Sleep some more.

You really have a lot of that to catch up on.

9. Binge-watch Netflix.

It's a never-ending world of possibility on your computer screen.

10. Binge-watch the romantic comedies on Netflix.

Caution: Only do this if you want to willingly make yourself cry.

11. Binge-watch the Christmas movies on Netflix.

Get into the Christmas spirit.

12. Wrap some Christmas presents.

This can be tedious, but if you're bored, what do you have to lose?

13. Open some Christmas presents.

I expect no argument about this.

14. Put away your Christmas presents after Christmas.

It's going to hurt, not only having to organize but having to accept that Christmas is over. It's fine. You can do this.

15. Read.

If you get tired of staring at a screen, crack open a book.

16. Read the entire Harry Potter series.

This is my personal challenge for the holidays. It's going to take a while, but at least I've got a full seven books to keep me occupied.

17. Sleep some more.

Remember when you didn't sleep for a full semester? You honestly deserve to sleep an entire month.

18. Start reading your books for next semester.

Just kidding.

19. At least order your books for next semester.

Okay, you don't have to do this either. Just suggestions.

20. Start packing for next semester.

It's going to be hard to accept heading back to school in January, but you can do this. You're just one step closer to summer vacation.

21. Hug your family again. They deserve it.

No matter how much you hug your family and appreciate your family and tell your family how much you love them, it never seems to be enough for all they do for you, but the holidays are a good time to try and show them just how special they are. Remind them that while they were missing you and worrying about you over the long fall semester, you missed them just as much.

To The Cheerful Person On Their Rainy Days, You Are Valid

The world is not always sunshine and rainbows, and you do not have to be, either.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.

Amidst my hectic college career, I always find time for one thing, even on the busiest weeks: Parks and Recreation. This show has made me laugh and has made me cry, but most of all I have related to this show more than I would like to admit.

April Ludgate

April Ludgate from Parks and Recreation is notorious for her "I don't care" attitude. She speaks her mind without caring what anyone thinks of her. Fans love her because she isn't afraid to be herself. April can seem cold and negative, but she's really just fearless and strong-minded. And despite her sometimes harsh words, April truly cares about the people she's closest to. These are all reasons she is the epitome of a college student. April complains whenever she has to do any kind of work, but ends up doing the work anyway. April Ludgate is the ultimate college student spirit animal.

11 Ways To Live The Best Life You Can

Life is full of twists and turns, but you have to keep going.

Life is all about twist and turns, sideways and which ways. Nothing is permanent, so we should take risks, and chase our dreams. We are taught at a young age many lessons that will follow us into adulthood. What we aren't taught is how to feel, and how we handle those emotions. We just have to figure them out ourselves, and that's not fun. In my 21 years of living, I have come to know that way too many people can't handle emotions, or the fact that not everyone is dead inside like them. When you're like me, and you have zero control over your emotions, it's hard to feel comfortable around people who aren't so in touch with themselves. As much as I would like to feel nothing at times, I've accepted who I am and the fact that I can cry over practically nothing. So, there are some things in life that you just have to do.
