" Hamilton: An American Musical" created by Lin-Manuel Miranda in the last two years has completely swept the nation. Long-time Broadway fans and people that have never seen a musical in their life love it. It feels like you can't go anywhere without someone talking about Hamilton or listening to Hamilton! From the first moment you listened to Hamilton it didn't take long to become obsessed, but you definitely went through these stages:

1. You were skeptical.

"A rap musical about Alexander Hamilton? The founding father?" is a pretty common response when you hear what Hamilton is about.

2. You listen to the first couple songs.

"The beats are pretty nice. Funny."

3. You go through the whole album.

You like it! You laughed, you cried.

4. You wonder if it's historically accurate.

You spend hours reading about the life of Alexander Hamilton.

5. You listen to the entire album again.

Now that you have read up on some Hamilton history the musical is that more amazing!

6. You hate Aaron Burr.

"He's the villain, right?"

7. You read up on Burr.

You find out he had a pretty similar upbringing as Hamilton and was kind of misunderstood.

8. You listen all the way through again.

"So, maybe he isn't as bad as I thought. He had a rough life, too."

9. You start looking up the original cast.

Lin-Manuel Miranda, Leslie Odom Jr., Renée Elise Goldsbury, Phillipa Soo, Daveed Diggs, etc.

10. You listen to the album again.

"The Schuyler sisters are badass."

11. You listen to all of Eliza's songs.

"Hamilton is douche! How could he do that! He's right he didn't deserve her!"

12. You feel bad for Angelica.

Although Angelica is a strong, independent woman, you can't help but be sad for her.

13. You listen to the whole thing again.

Now, you find that you know all the words.

14. You start searching for any video of the original cast singing Hamilton.

There aren't too many, but you watch them all about a million times.

15. If someone even mentions Hamilton you have to talk to them about it.

"I LOVE HAMILTON!"

16. All other music is forgotten. Hamilton is the only thing you listen to.

17. You listen to the whole album, but on shuffle.

You know it so well that you don't even need it to go in order.

18. Memes. Tumblr posts.

There are so many, and they are all fantastic. You look at them for days.

19. You realize just how obsessed that you have become.

But you're okay with it because Hamilton is dope.

20. You feel this connection with the whole cast.

21. All you think, feel, see, hear is Hamilton.

*Disclaimer: You listened to Hamilton about 4,000 times more than what I mentioned, but if I had to list every time you listen to Hamilton I would be writing this article for the next two years.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs.
