Robert M. Drake

I have always been a fan of poetry, prose and any writing in general that can strike a chord within me. I find myself reaching for these creative outlets whenever I need inspiration, motivation, to see uplifting words or whenever I need reassurance that everything is going to be OK. R.M. Drake is one of those writers who appeals to a broad audience. What he writes can be attributed to multiple life events, and each person can take away something different.

"If you must rebel, then rebel for a cause. Do not riot into the night for nothing. If you must, do it for change. Do it for people. Do it for all the things that might kill you. But above all, do it for life. It is all worth more when you do it for life."

"It is not about the places you have seen or the things you own. It is about the people you meet and the way they make you feel. So pick and choose. You do not need all of them to make it through the day, just a few and there are always a few good people coming in and out of your life. So please do not be afraid. Keep their trust. Their friendship is important."

"Dream with the dreamers and invent things that you never knew you had in you. Think with the thinkers and discover ideas that mold who you are. Smile with strangers and make friends that last a life time. Travel with travelers and explore a life beyond your imagination. Love only one and grow old with your best friend. Let these things bring fire to your soul, so when you look back at your life, you'll have no regrets and you can leave this place a little better than when you found it."

"Some people try so hard to change but sometimes it doesn't happen that way; we cannot force it. Sometimes it just happens over night, like one day it all makes sense and just like that you change. That should be inspiring to us all, the way we are able to die every night; only to be reborn the next day for the rest of our lives."

"You have to do things for yourself before you do things for other people. Love yourself then love other people. Trust yourself then trust other people. Be kind to yourself. Be good to yourself. When it is time for other people, it will be time for other people but right now you have to save yourself before you can save other people."

"There are people who have been ignored and kicked around a few times, the ones the crowd will tell you to stay away from. Seek those people out, and find them; they are the ones who will change the world."

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
