21 People You See On Every Train To London

It's no secret that people watching is one of the greatest past times ever. Public transportation is one of the best places to do so. Add in that it's in a different country, and you've got prime people watching opportunity.

1. Bearded, hipster grandpa just chilling with a MacBook and lit headphones

2. Two schoolgirls that asked to use my phone to ring their mom since they missed their train, but I couldn't use my phone

3. Amazing man that let them use his phone since they couldn't use mine

4. Typical businessman calling his wife to plan when to pick up the kids

5. Gay ginger with lovely fashion let me tell you

6. Hard working nurse whether going to or coming from work is unknown

7. Man obsessively checking his watch, probably going on a plane since he has luggage

8. Girl asleep three rows from me (literally within a minute of sitting down she was asleep)

9. Man in a complete green outfit: pants, long sleeve, and jacket-- not for work; extremely nice, woke me up to tell me the train was stopping in case I needed it

10. A French lady talking to some catering company back at home

11. VERY FLUFFY WHITE DOG

12. Very sweet older lady with an even older dog

13. Hipster grandpa is back!!

14. Two Americans who have NO idea where they are in London (to help them out... they were leaving London in fact and didn't know this until 1.5 hours later when we got to our final destination.)

15. Another man making a list.. maybe it's the same one?

16. An adorable family all with coffees or hot cocoa (kids as well-- I'm assuming hot cocoa)

17. A very stressed woman, very late to the airport

18. You guessed it, hipster grandpa is back and thriving guys

19. Honorable mention: the guy in his van blasting "get your freak on" by Missy Elliot on the London Bridge

20. A really attractive guy that thankfully sat right next to me

21. A man with an amazing acid wash jean shirt that I want to own now

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?
