It's the day you've been waiting for ever since your mom let you try a sip of her wine, and you gagged, promising yourself you would never take a sip of alcohol again. It's now time to graduate from the Pinnacle and Orloff that your late high school and early college self have been sipping on. Here's to the newbies! Welcome to the other side.

1. Scorpion Bowl

Not only is this the perfect excuse to order hibachi, but you and your friends can all share this delicious fruity drink made with rum, vodka, gin and grenadine. It's a must on every 21-year-old's drink-it list.

2. Fish Bowl

Following the bowl theme, fish bowls are the perfect drink to effectively get you drunk while masking the taste of alcohol at the same time. Almost everyone likes drinking fish bowls because of their yummy, fruity taste.

3. Vodka Cranberry

Not sure what to order for your first drink at the club? This is always a safe bet and is usually on the cheaper side, depending on what club you're at! It's a classic.

4. Margarita

If you're anything like me, your first shot of tequila in your friend's dorm room was enough to scar you for life. Don't fear! Margaritas will become your best friend once you turn 21. With many different flavors and the options of on the rocks or frozen, you're bound to find one that you love.

5. Rum and Coke

Not into the fruity drinks? This is the perfect classic drink to order whether you're at the bar or at a club.

6. Rum Bucket

The perfect drink to make you feel like you're on a tropical island. Big enough to share or be bold and finish it yourself.

7. Long Island Iced Tea

If your goal is to get drunk, this is the drink for you. Depending on where you order, this drink seems to be the strongest. It's made with tequila, gin, vodka, rum, triple sec and a splash of coke to give it the iced tea look. Be adventurous and try this!

8. Draft or Local Beer

Most restaurants have a wide selection of draft and local beers on tap! Ask the bartender what he or she recommends and make sure to stick with a lighter beer for your first try.

9. Guinness

If you have the pleasure of turning 21 before St. Paddy's Day, it's almost a given that you have to try a Guinness. The bartender may even add a fancy four leaf clover in the foam!

10. Jägerbomb

There are several different ways to come at this drink. You can either put a shot of Jäger in a glass of Red Bull or in a glass of beer. Either way, you have to be prepared to slug it down quickly!

11. Blowjob

Yes, I said the name of this shot correctly. In order to take it you must put your hands behind your back and only use your mouth to take the shot. Often, it is a shot of Bailey's and Kahlúa topped with whipped cream.

12. Sex on the Beach

The ultimate basic girl drink, this fruity vodka concoction tastes so good, and it's fun to say the name.

13. Jameson and Ginger Ale

Order this to show up all of the guys sitting at the bar. Jameson is a top shelf Irish Whiskey that goes down smoothly.

14. Fireball Shot

Relive your early college years and celebrate with a Fireball shot.

15. Martini

Order this if you want a classy drink. There are plenty of flavors (my favorite being Apple), and who doesn't feel cool holding a martini glass?

16. White Sangria

It's the perfect summery drink to have while on the beach or at home with your friends.

17. Mimosa

Perfect for your lazy Sunday brunch!

18. Vodka Red Bull

Long day of studying and attending classes? Don't fear! This drink will give you the energy you need to fist pump and mingle at the club.

19. Screwdriver

Name sound intense? Don't worry, it's just orange juice spiked with vodka.

20. Mojito

Refreshing and won't make your breath smell bad when you're trying to hit on somebody at the bar.

21. Tequila Sunrise

Margaritas not your thing? Try this tequila drink mixed with orange juice and grenadine!

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
