21 Bible Verses The World Needs To Hear
Sweet Paper Treats

There is no doubt that our world is hurting. Between terrorist attacks, shootings and other acts of violence, it can sometimes seem as if there is no hope anymore. Many people have adopted that mindset, and let me tell you, it is a dangerous way to think. It may not seem like it at the moment, but there is still hope in our world. Here, I have compiled 21 Bible verses that I feel the world needs to hear. These verses have helped me through some of my most difficult times when I feel beaten down and broken. I hope they can do the same for you, and be spread throughout the world.

1. Matthew 5:4

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

2. Romans 12:14-18

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep. Be in agreement with one another. Do not be proud; instead, associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own estimation. Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Try to do what is honorable in everyone's eyes. If possible, on your part, live at peace with everyone.

3. Psalms 50:15

Call on Me in a day of trouble; I will rescue you and you will honor Me.

4. Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; think about him in all your ways and He will guide you on the right paths.

5. 2 Corinthians 1:10

He has delivered us from such a terrible death, and He will deliver us. We have put our hope in Him that He will deliver us again.

6. James 1:12

A man who endures trials is blessed, because when he passes the test he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.

7. 1 John 4:4

You are from God, little children, and you have conquered them, because the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

8. Joshua 1:9

Haven't I commanded you: be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

9. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest in me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

10. Romans 8:18

For I consider the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is going to be revealed to us.

11. Psalm 27:1-3

The Lord is my light and my salvation -- whom should I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life -- of whom should I be afraid? When evildoers came against me to devour my flesh, my foes and my enemies stumbled and fell. Though an army deploys against me, my heart is not afraid; though a war breaks out against me, still I am confident.

12. Isaiah 41:10

Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with My righteous right hand.

13. Psalm 9:9-10

The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. Those who know Your name trust in You because You have not abandoned those who seek You, Yahweh.

14. 2 Corinthians 4:8-9

We are pressured in every way but not crushed; we are perplexed but not in despair;we are persecuted but not abandoned; we are struck down but not destroyed.

15. Psalm 34:17-18

The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is near the brokenhearted; He saves those crushed in spirit.

16. Matthew 24:35

Heaven and Earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.

17. Romans 8:28

We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose.

18. Philippians 4:6

Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.

19. Romans 15:13

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in Him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

20. Psalm 46:10

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

21. John 16:33

I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! I have conquered the world.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
