Your 20s are time of great turbulence. One moment you're on top of the world, the next you're completely unsure of what you're doing with your life. It is the best of times and the worst of times. Luckily we have the HBO series, "Girls," to describe what it really is to be in your 20s.

1. You have drunk traits

Everyone in their 20s has a trait that only appears when you've been drinking copious amounts of alcohol. You may run full speed away from the people you're with. You may constantly have your fingers running through your hair. Whatever it is, it's there and completely average.

2. Almost everyone is attractive to you on some level

Maybe it's purely lust, but there are many a beautiful 20-somethings running around that it is difficult to not appreciate their beauty, as I am sure you have already taken note of.

3. You don't know what you're doing with your life

Do any of us actually even know what we're doing with our lives, most of the time? As soon as you accept that you're walking around blindly for a better part of a decade, then you can come to terms with your life being a disaster zone.

4. You're caught somewhere between four and a half, and 20-something

You're tired all of the time! The amount of naps you need to take now may be greater than those needed at age four. Yet you're still expected to do taxes and be a productive member of society. Perhaps next decade you'll have more energy to adult.

5. People around you seem to be getting their lives together

You can't help but ask the question: how? How do they know how to be a real adult and you drive the struggle bus? Is there a manual I didn't get the day I turned 20 that I should have?

6. Not knowing what you're doing can be depressing

On a more serious note, not knowing what it is you're always supposed to be doing can be depressing. Especially when your peers seem to be getting their lives together as adults and you can't help but compare their achievements to what you perceive as your lack in achievement.

7. When in doubt party in the middle of the week

There are times where it is absolutely necessary to forget your responsibilities and run away to a party to forget. It's not the adult thing to do, but it may be the only thing standing between you and ripping off your face due to the many stresses of adult-ing.

8. Growing older is terrifying

Have you ever sat down and thought, "I am halfway to being middle aged," and had a subsequent feeling of mortality? I will leave you now to ponder that thought if you haven't already.

9. You're hungry... All the time

Trying to be an adult and fit in your almost daily naps can really work up an appetite. Good thing you have the pizza delivery number on speed dial.

10. Dance it off and maybe you'll get it together by the next decade

Next decade will be your decade to figure out how to be an adult. However, in the meantime, use the present to dance around and pretend all is well, because it is.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads.
