Your twentieth year is a special one. You are no longer than awkward teenager. (Why am I kidding? I'll be awkward forever.) But you are also not fully an "adult" yet. So celebrate yourself for making it two whole decades.

1. Eat Cake.

Definitely the top priority. And don’t let anyone stop you.

2.Mourn over the loss of your teenage years.

Maybe not exactly wanting them back but more so mourn over the fact that being a teenager is no longer a valid excuse to not know how to adult.

3. Spend time with family.

You are getting to the stage in life where you will soon have your own family so don’t forget to enjoy being with them as much as possible.

4. Eat your favorite food.

Treat yourself to that Mexican food you have been waiting for, for so long.

5. Watch your favorite chick flicks.

And mourn in your singleness sorrow. You do you girl.

6. Write down your favorite 20 scripture verses.

Let this be a reminder for the next year about how magnificent our God is.

7. Sleep.

Because it’s your day and you can do what you want. And who doesn’t want to sleep!

8. Go shopping.

You deserve to look and be treated like a princess.

9. Laugh until you cry.

Get your family telling childhood stories or get your best friends and laugh until you can’t laugh anymore.

10. Get free stuff.

The more things you sign up for, the more free stuff. And who does love free stuff. Ulta= Eyeshadow. Mazzio’s=Free Pizza. Chili’s= Free Desert.

11. Watch football.

Hopefully your birthday is on a Saturday and in the fall so you can enjoy some Cowboy football.

12. Go on vacation.

Whether that means you just go home to see your family or you road trip to somewhere, take a break from the craziness and enjoy life.

13. Take cute pictures.

Because you, my friend, and beautiful and that deserves to be seen.

14. Let Justin Bieber sing you happy birthday.

This has happened every year since I was 15. All it takes is an email address and a birthday.

15. Go to the Movies.

It’s fun, quick and requires you to do nothing but sit there and enjoy.

16. Do something crazy.

I am probably not going to be participating in this way but if this is your thing, go jump out of an airplane or off a bridge or whatever your heart desires.

17. Do something fun.

Go bowling, play mini golf, and rest in the fact that you’re not any good at it.

18. Eat dinner.

Get all of your friends and family together and enjoy a meal that you (hopefully) don’t have to buy for yourself.

19. Go for a hike.

If you like to be outdoors and enjoy Gods creation, there is nothing more beautiful then hiking through the Oklahoma “mountains”.

20. Be thankful.

Be thankful that the teenage years are behind you but also that you have so much more ahead of you. You are surround on this day with friends and family who love you and want to see you do well in life. Be thankful that God has blesses you in this way and enjoy the next year because you will soon have to be a “real” adult.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing!
