Looking Forward to 2022?

2020 was the year that everyone wanted to forget, and it's not something that anyone wants to remember because of all the events that occurred in the previous year, and we're getting close to the end of 2021. What have we discovered so far? We have a new president, Joe Biden, who appears to be doing a good job, but not great. He is a better candidate than the last one; no one was a Trump supporter, and if you were, please accept my apologies. However, we finished 2020 on a relatively positive note when we chose Biden as our president and finally acknowledged that quarantine had had many benefits in terms of regulating covid. The year 2021 got off to a good start with the introduction of immunization. The immunization was in the works and would soon be available to the public, but they were, as promised, a little late. But, as the saying goes, "better late than never." Currently, half of the world has been vaccinated, and certain countries still require vaccines. India had the worst incidence of covid 19, and our state was busy discussing vaccinations, quarantine, and whether or not we would have to be isolated. However, no news appeared to be covering those countries that were suffering the worst. Students were then able to attend school in person. Some people, including college students, can attend classes online. Nonetheless, new covid instances appear on a regular basis. Christmas seemed to be warmer than usual, and no one seemed to wonder why. That is a serious issue. Global warming is a major issue, but we seem to be ignoring it because we believe it can't be reversed now. We can do better and change this problem; we won't be able to stop global warming, but we can take steps to prevent it from getting worse. Even though we are nearing the end of 2021, there are still issues. Winter has arrived. There has been a rapid increase in the number of covid cases; at least thousands are affected each day, and now we have omicron on top of it all. More vaccines and booster doses are required. Is 2021 a fantastic year or one of the worst? It is in the middle. It is a step behind 2020.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

eye roll

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

While this question trend can get annoying, there are a couple of pros to having RBF.

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.
