Okay, I know it's not even close to summer, but it's never too early to prepare. AND all I've been seeing on my Instagram is gorgeous influencers wearing some AMAZING swimwear. We can all stick to our basic, triangle bikinis, but why not shake things up a little bit? The Instagram models are -- SO CAN WE!
1. Tie Dye
For a more fun and colorful look, try a two-tone tie-dye bikini. These have been all over social media, and let's just say, we're here for it. It really elevates a swimsuit with a more basic cut and screams new decade.
2. 70s/80s High Hip One Pieces
2020 has definitely channeled nostalgia with this trend. With our obsession with '80s period pieces, vintage music, and thrifting, it was only a matter of time before swimsuits started recalling the classic high hip look.
For some, this trend is something that should've stayed dead, but for the rest of us, we are loving the way these swimsuits make our legs seem taller while covering our muffin tops. It's chic and unique, and I, for one, love it!
3. Hip-less One Pieces
So, this swimsuit trend is for the more brave fashionista. These kinds of swimsuits took the idea of the high hip and RAN with it. It may not be the most secure, but you'll look extremely hot tanning by the pool.
4. Animal Print
This trend always comes and goes, but right now, it is here and we are living for it. Channel your inner "Tiger King" and rock your favorite kind of animal print. It gives a more natural vibe, while being more interesting than a simple solid, earth-tone swimsuit.
5. Almost Lingerie
These swimsuits take a simple black or white swimsuit and make it sexy. The bikinis usually feature lace trim, ruffles, and underwire to pay homage to our underwear drawers. Personally, I love the dainty look and think it's so cute to see at the beach with a straw sun hat.
6. Mesh Chest
Again, this trend takes a lot of confidence to rock, but I think it is so cute. I'm not sure if it will truly catch wind, but I would LOVE to see a little titty empowerment. Showing a little nipple never hurt anyone.
7. Skinny Strings
If you thought the string bikini wasn't skimpy enough for you, you might wanna try these skinny strings. They're a sexy, chic take on a classic that you can have a lot of fun with. It offers variety with how you want to tie it and allows for minimal tan lines.
8. Crochet
Another resurfacing trend, the crochet bikini gives us tropical 70s vibes. Grab yourself a pina colada or a puka shell necklace and just get caught in the rain. I live for this trend and the relaxed vibes that go with it. This trend is especially cool because it seems to keep coming back. Buy a crochet swimsuit now, you'll be able to wear it again in three years.
All these swimsuits make me so excited for summer. I can't wait to hit the pool or beach (granted, only if they open) in one of these styles. I love this year's swimsuit trends and think they would look amazing on all body types and skin tones. Even if you don't end up flexing these styles, I hope this post gives you inspiration, if nothing else.
