The Who's Who Of 2020 Presidential Candidates

A bit premature? You bet.

1. Kirsten Gillibrand

A staunch believer in "getting things done" but can still hold onto their beliefs is what this country needs and she is it. She has also voted against nearly every single one of Trump's cabinet picks, something which will gain her a lot of street cred with the Democrats over the next few years.

Ranking: Definitely

2. Keith Ellison

The man who "shoulda, coulda woulda" led the DNC, many see him as a politician in the same vein as Bernie Sanders but will that be enough to stir the party towards him? Time will tell.

Ranking: Maybe

3. Caroline Kennedy

She has never held elected office but seeing how the last election went, that is no longer a prerequisite. She has recently been going on the morning talk show circuit and touting her knowledge of U.S. foreign policy that she gained during her time as Ambassador to Japan.

It'll be interesting to see if she runs for office in the midterms and if she does, who is she going to challenge? Schumer, Gillibrand, someone else?

She's also the child of a president, so I guess that gives her some street cred.

Ranking: Wild Card

4. Elizabeth Warren

She can easily gain the support of the "Bernie or Bust" folks but she's really going to need to appeal to the more moderate American, something that may be hard to do. Nonetheless, she has gained momentum with McConnellgate as I like to call it.

Someone should have told Mitch that trying to keep her quiet would only help.

Ranking: Definitely

5. Joe Biden

Where in the world is Joe Biden? It seems as if he has been on the down low since the inauguration. He'll be chairing a few projects during his retirement but a run in 2020 could bring him out of it. Mr. Biden has expressed regret for not running in 2016 and could try to do so next time around.

Ranking: Maybe

6. Joseph P. Kennedy III

If the defeat of Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton didn't signal the end of political dynasties and his cousin Caroline doesn't jump into the race, Joey has a shot.

Some see him as a successor to both his grandfather, Robert F. Kennedy, and his great-uncles, John F. Kennedy and Ted Kennedy.

A Kennedy who has held political office and introduced his old law professor, Senator Elizabeth Warren, at the Democratic Convention, Kennedy is making a name for himself around the country.

Ranking: Likely

7. Kamala Harris

The current junior Senator from California has been making a name for herself as a progressive during her time in politics. The first Indian-American to sit in the Senate, she has a lot of potential going forward.

Ranking: Likely

8. Hillary Clinton

I know, right? But Hillary has been doing all the right things to run in 2020. She has stayed very low key but comes out when the time is right (aka: when Donald does something and the public is outraged) and shows herself as a voice of reason.

Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but how great would a Trump v. Clinton rematch be?

Ranking: Wild Card

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
