Alright, you know the title of the article, I really don't have to do such an overhyped lead-in, but on a serious note, if you haven't watched Infinity War, DP 2, Solo, or any of the combination of the three, seriously, get out of your house and treat yourself. I know you can probably watch it on the internet for free, but it is worth the price of admission to upgrade to the incredibly high quality. Anyways, rant over, here are five upcoming movies you need to watch this Summer.
1. "The Incredibles 2" (June 15th)
One of the most anticipated Pixar sequels in the last decade, The Incredibles sequel is finally here. This is one of those appropriate times where you can push a small child out of the way because you 18-24 year holes deserve it with the amount of patience you had over the years (don't actually push a small child, that's mean), but a movie for all ages is incredibly acceptable to grab your family and just have a movie night out.
2. "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" (June 22nd)
Still one of my most favorite movie franchises of all-time, over 25 years later and the guys over in Jurassic World still never learn their lessons when it comes to dinosaurs. Let's hope this sequel doesn't flop, as it does look as quite of an exciting second movie in the new trilogy. I just wish they didn't leak the scary dinosaur in the 2nd released movie trailer 5 months before the release date, but you can't get everything in life. I sense another big money cash grab from Universal is bound to happen with it being the Jurassic Park series.
3. "The First Purge" (July 4th)
I like variety in my movies, so I can't forget to mention the purge, the only horror movie on this list. If you haven't watched any of the Purge movies, pretty much crime is legal for 12 hours, and from there, just imagine the possibilities. Although The Purge series is not the greatest, a July 4th release date for this movie makes sense, and it is a good change up from all the superhero movies. Speaking of that...
4. "Ant-Man and the Wasp" (July 6th)
After a strange absence from Infinity War, the sequel to Ant-Man is upon us. The trailers look good, and knowing the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it should explain a lot of things in regards to this massive timeline. Remember friends, make sure you stay for the post-credit scenes, there is usually something at the end of every Marvel movie worth staying.
5. "Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again" (July 20th)
I had to appeal to the 80% female audience on The Odyssey, so you're welcome. The long-awaited Mamma Mia sequel is here, grab your lady friends for this one because honestly, the first one was really good, and I am curious to see how they can do better. Gentlemen, I apologize ahead of time if your girl forces you into this movie, but you may like it, who knows?
6. Disney's "Christopher Robin" (August 3rd)
A live action Winnie the Pooh movie? I'm intrigued. Disney is on a role with their movie productions right now, and that train is probably not stopping now. The trailers have people getting nostalgia, and Disney fans everywhere have a lot to look forward to this Summer with everything coming out.
