With 2016 ending in a few weeks, there was a lot of music announcements like new albums and new music from bands all over America. But the most wonderful time of the year is when concerts in 2017 get announced as every concert goer is already setting their dates and money aside to go to these 2017 shows. *Note Vans Warped Tour will NOT be involve as these are tours, but will be featured in a 2017 music festival article*
Lacey Sturm with Stitched Up Heart, Palisades & Letters from Fire
This tour was recently announced and it brings an interesting lineup with a banging headliner. For those who do not know, Lacey Sturm was ex-front-woman for Flyleaf and since her departure from Flyleaf has done a quite successful single career. She is also with another front-woman from Stitched Up Heart named Mixi. Stitched Up Heart is a metal band that formed back in 2010 and since then have done tours with From Ashes to New, Icon for Hire, and Lacuna Coil. The band since 2010 released two eps, one titled Stitched Up Heart and the other titled Skeleton Key. Early this year, the band released their first album titled Never Alone. In 2015, the band signed with Another Century records which is the same record company that did sign New Years Day as well. Now lets bring up the rock/electronic mix from NJ, Palisades. Well previously I mentioned Palisades in the 2017 bands to watch article, but their album comes out while on this tour so expect a few album release shows on this tours off day Lastly, the band Letters from Fire, I am not the best of knowing bands as this band seems completely new to me. But if I think they fit into this tour then they obviously will destroy the tour as the first band of the night.
Attila with New Years Day, Bad Omure & canehill
I'm a bad motherfucker not a fucking role model, HOLD IT this is not Chaos Attila so how about It's about that time, This the year we take shit off the internet, And settle it in the streets motherfucker. Much better, you read it correctly Attila has returned with a US tour that was announced last week. A lot of people who know Attila are, they're the band that gives zero f's about everyone's opinion and feelings. Towards the back end of the year, the band released a new album titled Chaos. Lets Get Abducted Tour will be insane because all these bands have a die hard fan base and can destroy each city they play in. Also in the 2017 bands to watch article, comes New Years Day from LA, won't get into them much but the band announced the tour the same day that Attila did. Bad Omure, once again a band I do not know will, but I am eager to see what this band brings to the stage and see how everything ends. Finally, the underdogs of the tour from Texas comes canehill. Canehill is a heavy metal band from Texas and in 2015 released their first album titled Smile. The band has received recognition, they were on the 2016 Vans Warped Tour circuit, toured with the Insane Clown Pose, and were nominated as best underground band at this past years APMA's. So this tour seem like a dream lineup that any heavy metal enthusiast would proudly pay a lot of money for this show.Waterparks & Too Close to Touch with Creeper & Chapel
Speaking of underground bands, this tour has both headliners as serious underground bands. Both bands did in fact play in this past years Vans Warped Tour through the entire circuit. Waterparks is a band from Texas formed in 2011, which the band has taken the pop-punk scene by storm. On November 4th, the band released their debut album titled Double Dare. The band did finish up their tour last month with State Champs, Tonight Alive, and Sleeping With Sirens. The band took it to twitter to be happy that they will not being playing 5 songs anymore but more songs for this tour.
HI. FIRST HEADLINING TOUR THIS FEBRUARY AND MARCH. PLAYING MORE THAN 5 SONGS. SHIT. OKAY. COME. http://waterparksband.com
Too Close To Touch, C R E E P E R and CHAPEL
From their Dec 12th tweet
Still in the underground category, comes the band who won the APMAs for best undergound band Too Close to Touch This band has since made it big onto the scene as they just finished up 2016 on the Retrograde tour. The band also toured with Secrets, Palisades, New Years Day, and Crown the Empire. The band also along with Waterparks played on this years Vand Warped Tour. The band fuses heavy metal vocals with the sweet melody of the band, but they can get a pit going a lot. The band has already had two albums titled Nerve Endings and Haven't Been Myself. These underground bands has some help in big bands in the form of Creeper. Creeper formed back in 2014 in the great country England, hooray England! Cheers for giving us the Beatles, The Who, and Oceans Ate Alaska. But boo England for One Direction (sorry not a boy band dude). Creeper is currently signed with Roadrunner records, and the band has covered songs by Iron Maiden and My Chemical Romance. The band early this year released their first album titled Eternity, in Your Arms. If you still do not know, then look up Neck Deep APMA performance as the lead singer of Creeper, Will Gould performed with Neck Deep for their cover of Green Day's Welcome to Paradise. Also, veterans Chapel will be making the run too for this tour. Chapel formed in 2013 in Dublin, Ireland and hooray Ireland! Thanks Ireland for giving us Dropkick Murphys reason to write wonderful Irish music in America. Also on, the band released a new album that is currently not available on the American Itunes store but most likely on the Irish Itunes store.
A Day to Remember with New Found Glory, Neck Deep & Mooseblood
Well first yes this was announced in 2016 but is happening in 2017, so shut up and it's gonna be on this list. Also the tour is in the U.K. not in America, sorry America we don't get nice things. So A Day to Remember, internationally known pop-punk band from Ocala, Florida. If you have not heard of them then get to it as they've been around forever. The band has multiple multi-platinum albums and numerous awards to proclaim them as a great pop-punk band. The bands recent album titled Bad Vibrations, once again propelled the band to the top of the world and charts for multiple weeks. Right now, the band is in Australia with Tonight Alive and Issues (originally Of Mice & Men). After this tour, the band will be off for the holidays and pick up in the middle of January for this tour. Hey, U.K. stop getting wonderful tours as A Day to Remember is also bringing heavyweight New Found Glory to the party. New Found Glory is like A Day to Remember, been around for quite some time and topped multiple charts and received world recognition. New Found Glory is another pop-punk heavyweight that has destroyed charts and own multi-platinum albums. New Found Glory's song Vicious Love took charts and brought pop-punk fans to life especially the verse with Haley Williams of Paramore being involved as well. Next band, well god damn it U.K. is the hometown boys Neck Deep as another heavyweight pop-punk band challenger approaches. Neck Deep as well has multi-platinum albums and have performed all over the world with infamous bands. The band is so popular that they re-released their song December, but this time features Mark Hoppus of Blink-182. Even though the band only has two studio albums, the band has been destroying the pop-punk scene. Now comes mooseblood, the emo band from the U.K. as well. Guess U.K. fans will be happy and rejoice the feeling of hometown boys returning. The band formed in 2012 and currently have two studio albums under their belts as well.
Killswitch Engage & Anthrax with The Devil Wears Prada
Let's moshpit everyone as this is a heavy metal riot ready to explode. Killswitch Engage is a heavy metal band that has made platinum albums and have toured throughout the world. Killswitch Engage's song This Fire was the original theme song of former WWE superstar and current MMA fighter CM Punk. The band has recently became relevant again as their new album Incarnate has brought these heavy metal slugger back to the top of the charts and back to the top of Metal charts. The band has multiple awards from different shows which show why Killswitch Engage is a heavy metal slugger. So what is better than one metal great, two metal greats (insert spongebob meme) in the form of Anthrax. First no nit the drug, but the heavy metal icons that formed in 1981. Yep the band formed in 1981 in New York City and the band still tours a lot over the entire world. The band has become a part of society again with their new album titled For All Kings. This album once again propelled this metal great to the top of the charts for weeks on weeks. Now lets bring in some young guns in the form of The Devil wears Prada. Once again do not think about the book, but the heavy metal band that has been around since the mid 2000's. The band has been around since 2005 and have released multiple albums during their 11-12 year tenure. In 2016, the band returned to Rise Records, but lost founder Chris Rubey (note he is not dead). Also in October of 2016, the band released Transit Blues. The album gave the band top chart rating again in the Metal section of ITunes.
These are just 5 of the tours announced, but stay tuned for part 2 of 2017 tours. So stay tuned and find out who else made 2017 announcements.
