5 Great Video Games Coming Out In 2017
Night In The Woods Wikia

To start off, I love video games. I love all types. All themes. I love long games. I love short games. I love games that make you think and games that are mindless. As the years go on, it seems I like video games more and move every year. Each year brings games that I thoroughly enjoy and games that I absolutely hate. Mostly, I get a lot of games that I'm completely excited about whether or not they disappoint me later on after I've played them.

2017 already seems like a great year for games, and it's only just started. Many games are announced throughout the year prior and some of them never come to complete fruition -- but I'm excited for these games below none the less.

1. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (Jan. 24, 2017)

God. This is the Resident Evil game we have all been waiting for. We don't have to talk about how mediocre the latest ones were (cough) RESIDENT EVIL OPERATION RACCOON CITY, RESIDENT EVIL REVELATIONS...(cough). But finally, this game franchise is trying to actually give us something to be afraid of again, and boy -- is it succeeding. Watch a Let's Play or two on Youtube for the demo, or play it yourself!

Gameplay Trailer, will be available for Xbox One, PS4 and Windows

2. Hello Neighbor (Summer 2017)

This game, or at least the Alpha release, has taken the Youtube community by storm. Personalities like CinnamonToastKen and JackSepticEye have been playing (actually really, messing around) the game's pre-release and posting videos as the game is developed. The premise: you move in across the street from a seemingly very odd neighbor who undoubtedly has a secret. You try your hand at breaking into his house and finding out what's in his basement -- the creepy part is that the Neighbor learns from your movements and failures and sets traps accordingly to catch you again.

Gameplay Trailer , will be available for Windows.

3. Outlast 2 (2017...hopefully soon)

Let me just say. The original Outlast was absolutely WILD. I mean, a journalist comes to investigate mental hospital/prison and really didn't prepare for what he was going to find. Insert using a video camera to record your findings and placing everything in your environment in negative. Because Outlast was an original and thoroughly fantastic scare, that's what makes the idea of the sequel so exciting. Also following another journalist and his wife, they wander the wilderness investigating the death of a nameless pregnant woman -- and really find some.... unfortunate ...things.

Gameplay Trailer , will be available for Xbox One, PS4, Windows and Mac.

4. Little Nightmares (Spring 2017)

This game has been in talks for a while, with glimpses and demos coming out early last year. But, finally -- this game is coming to life. You play as a kidnapped girl named Six, who is forced into child labor. The whole game is about her exploring the area she was taken to, it's odd creatures and how to escape back to her original life. If the story isn't interesting enough for you, the game's aesthetics is enough to bring you in.

Gameplay Trailer, will be available for Xbox One, PS4 and Windows.

5. Night in the Woods (February 2017)

THIS IS EASILY THE GAME I AM MOST EXCITED FOR TO COME OUT THIS YEAR. It's been in the making since early last year and has two companion games that were created before it. The first time I saw the trailer -- I knew this would be a game I liked. It was actually supposed to be released earlier this month, but it got pushed back (grumble grumble...). You play as college dropout Mae (whom is a cat and all the characters are pessimistic animals) who returns home to try and rekindle her relationships. But, she finds out that it's not that easy and everything is different with time. Plot twist, there is also something in the woods.

Gameplay Trailer , will be available on Xbox One, PS4, Windows, Mac and Linux.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
