I know it is only October, but the end of 2017 is nearing faster than we think. This year has been more than interesting and packed full with chisme, especially for the beauty realm. Every time I checked my Instagram or twitter feed, I felt as if another brand was launching a new palette and that crazy part is that feeling wasn't far from the truth. An abundance of new palette releases only leads to one thing: an abundance of 2017 palette favorites and disappointments.

Let's start with the favorites.

1. Tarte's Tartiest Pro Palette

Disappointment is the furthest word I could think of when I think of this palette, but this was no surprise to me. Tarte Cosmetics has been killing the game all year long--I only expected great things. This has become my favorite palette to use. I can get endless amount of looks from one palette which is a win for me. Not to mention, those shimmers are to die for.

2. Sephora Pro Palettes

I know these are technically three different palettes, but it is so difficult to not combine them into one giant palette! The pigmentation for these palettes are out of this world. The coolest part is that each palette is either warm toned, cool toned, or giving full on 80's vibe. They average around $68 a piece, but if you buy all three you'll never need to buy another palette again!

3. NYX Happy Birthday Palette

Who said all fabulous palettes had to be high end brands? NYX Cosmetics is one of the best drug store brands to hit the market and this palette goes to prove it. I received this as a free gift from Ulta for my birthday this year. Truthfully, I didn't have much of an expectation. However, after using it... I use it almost every single day! The shades are perfect neutrals with a little extra flare making it the perfect palette for every day wear.

While there were tons of palettes that I loved this year, there were also some that didn't catch my eye. Here's my disappointments:

1. Anastasia Beverly Hill's Subculture Palette

Ah, the infamous Subculture palette a.k.a the biggest disappointment to the beauty world. That might be a little harsh, but I expected so much more from this palette. If you're curious just how bad it is look up the swatches via YouTube. This palette isn't completely useless if you have a very light hand when applying it, however, if you're like me and aren't as graceful you'll end up with an eye look resembling Shrek's swamp.

2. Too Faced's Glitter Bomb Palette

For me, this palette isn't necessarily bad but it isn't great either. I love the concept of the palette, but a larger shade range would make me feel more inclined to purchase it.

3. Fenty Beauty's Galaxy Palette

Do not get me wrong, the quality of this palette is amazing! I love the concept, just like the palette above. The issue here is that not ever shimmer has the same pigmentation, which is good for varying eye looks and bad if you have a terrible memory and can't remember which is a light sparkle and which is a full-on metallic. Personally, I love Fenty but I could never bring myself to pay $60 for a palette that I couldn't achieve a complete eye look from.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Syllabus Week As Told By Kourtney Kardashian

Feeling Lost During Syllabus Week? You're Not Alone!

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
