2016's Best Memes

This year might've sucked, but at least the memes were good!

This year has been filled with a LOT of ups and downs, but no matter what was going on, there were always some great memes about it. Here are 10 of my favorites from this year, but this list is by no means exclusive. I love memes and our generation :)

1. Inner Kermit.

I don't know why these crack me up so much but I die every time I see them.

2. Arthur.

3. The duck face guy.

4. The blue button.

5. SpongeBob

SpongeBob has always been relevant, but we've found new meaning in the iconic show. Highlights include caveman SpongeBob and the frantic Mr. Krabs (not included).

6. "Just something to take the edge off."

7. Confused woman.

I have no idea what this is from but it's me all the time.

8. Obama/Biden.

These might be the only good things to come out of Obama leaving the White House.

9. Trash.

I relate to these on a personal level.

10. Harambe.

We're all sick of Harambe memes, but there's no way that you can have a top meme list of 2016 and NOT include Harambe. Sorry.

There are so many more great memes from this year but too many to include sadly. Here's to many more funny memes in 2017!

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. 7. If you say you will be home at a certain time, you better be home at that time.

8. Seeing a missed call from your parents sends fear and horror through your veins.

9. If relatives are coming over to the house, your room better be clean.

10. You are careful about what jokes you share with your parents.

11. "You’re not an adult until you turn 18! You can do whatever you want then!"

12. If plans change while you’re out, you better text or call.

13. Don’t talk back. Ever.

14. When you’re called by your full name, you’re in deep trouble.

15. Don’t make them call your name twice.

16. Sleepovers are not a thing.

17. Despite all of these things, you know your parents love you.
