If 2016 was a person, it would be Toby Flenderson.

2016 may be the biggest meme of all. Society itself seemed to let us down in every way we can think of, not to mention anything that went on in our personal lives that could only make this year worse. Drama, drama, and did I forget to mention, more drama. With all that’s gone on in this world, I think we can all universally agree that 2016, would in fact be, no one’s year

1. "New Year, New Me" am I right?

Pop the champagne and get ready to ring in the new year dancing the night away! 2016 started off strong and had a lot of potential. Come every new year, we all have high hopes for what the new year can bring, but maybe expectations for 2016 were set a little too high.

2. Keeping up with everything that went down in Hollywood

From Kim exposing Taylor Swift on her Snapchat, Leonardo DiCaprio receiving his first Oscar (my personal highlight of this year), to Drake professing his love to Rihanna on national television, Taylor Swift hitting her two year mark and not releasing an album that we greatly needed, and now Camila Cabello leaving Fifth Harmony (sorry Harmonizers). It was a little too much for us to take in.

3. "All Summer 16" wasn't all that Drake made it out to be

It didn’t really seem until this summer that everything started to go wrong. Starting with the from the shooting in Pulse Night Club in Orlando and other shootings that happened, to ISIS attacks and riots brought about by racial conflict, not to mention this year’s election that only divided our country instead of bringing it together, it seemed like 2016 would never stop.

4. The Election

As a nation, we have been following the election for months and at times, did it even feel like an election? With all the memes that came about and jokes that were made, it was hard to even tell how serious this all was. Whether you were for Hillary, for Trump, or neither, the election was all around a time of havoc.

5. When you realize you might be living a year in a meme

From Harambe, to the Evil Kermit meme, to being “triggered”or “shook”, and now to changing the "Bad and Boujee" lyrics, this year was full of memes to the point that it seemed like our life was just one big meme. I think it's safe to say, we're over the year of the meme.

6. Saying goodbye to iconic Hollywood legends.

This year we lost some pretty amazing and influential people in our society. From musical icons Prince and David Bowie, to Alan Rickman (Professor Snape from the Harry Potter series) and world famous boxer, Muhammad Ali. And just recently, we lost George Michael, a pop music sensation, and mother-daughter duo, Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds. 2016 had no shame taking everyone in its way.

7. It can only get better from here... right?

Come December 31st, I think it's safe to say that we will all be wishing for a better year.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
