The 2016 World Series will feature two teams who have not won it for a combined 176 years. The Chicago Cubs, who have not won the World Series since 1908 (108 years), and the Cleveland Indians, who have not won the World Series since 1948 (68 years), will face off in one of the most anticipated matchups in history. Both teams have been very impressive this postseason, especially the Indians.
Cleveland came into the postseason as an underdog in their first round matchup with the American League East Division Champions, the Boston Red Sox, but quickly showed why they were not really the underdogs in the series. So, who is going win the 2016 World Series? If the Indians can shut down the Cubs’ offense like they did to Toronto and Boston, then they should have no problem winning it all. If the Cubs can figure out Cleveland’s bullpen and get to them early, then the Cubs will take home their first World Series Championship in 108 years.
Final Prediction: Cleveland beats Chicago in 7 games.
MVP: Andrew Miller
