The World Cup of Hockey is upon us and it looks like it is going to be one heck of a ride. There is no clear favorite to win it all, but Team Canada and Team USA are both looking very strong as usual. The two teams split their two pre-tournament matchups, Team USA took the first game by a score of 4-2 and Team Canada took the second game by a score of 5-2. Although these two teams are looking to dominate the tournament, there are plenty of challenges in front of them.
One team who is really looking to make a splash in this year's tournament is Team North America. This team is full of good, young talent and could be very dangerous for their opponents. Led by Connor McDavid, Team North America is currently undefeated in their two pre-tournament games against Team Europe, outscoring them by a total of 11-4. This team is going to be fast and they are going to be good, they might not look like an extreme threat, but they should not be taken lightly.
The tournament officially begins on Saturday, September 17, 2016 with two games: Team USA vs. Team Europe and Team Czech Republic vs. Team Canada. Both games will be highly contested and will come down to the final seconds, but look for Team's USA and Canada to take home victories. Team's Canada, USA, and North America are not the teams to look out for, Team Sweden and Team Russia are also going to be very dangerous in this tournament.
Who will win the 2016 World Cup of Hockey? We will find out on Saturday, October 1, 2016.
