The 2016 Spring And Summer Fashion Trends

Spring is just now starting to be in full swing which means warmer weather, allergies, and new fashion. There have already been several new fashion shows that are setting the stage for what we should expect to see in the fashion world.

Many of the new trends that have been introduced have been quite surprising, and they will also add a lot of diversity to this year's spring and potentially summer.

Orange and White

Two colors have been noted to be dominate in the upcoming spring and summer and those two colors are orange and white. At first I was not very sure about how this combination would work, but after looking into the outfits I'm slowly starting to love how designers are pairing them. Some designers who are all about orange and white are Dion Lee, Veronica Beard, Tome, and Monse.

Lightweight Denim

Lightweight denim is really trending right now, and can be found in several different forms. From jeans, jackets, dresses, and accent pieces denim is all over the place and definitely be a major part of fashion this season. Several big name designers are on the denim bandwagon. Some designers include, Gabriela Hearst, Jil Sander Navy, and Suno.

Half-Moon Bags

Half-Moon bags are one of the trending accessories that we will be seeing a good amount in the spring and summer this year. The relatively new shaped bag is expected to replace a lot of the other seen purses and bags. Several huge names have adopted the new shaped bags including, Michael Kors, Victoria Beckham, and Mansur Gavriel.

Plaid

Plaid seems to also be making a come back! Mostly seen in women's fashion, plaid is taking over several different aspects of fashion ranging from pants and pantsuits to purses and handbags. Plaid definitely took many people by surprise when it was listed to be a popular trend for this years spring and summer wear. Many designers are supporting the movement including, Victoria Beckham, Marissa Webb, and Wes Gordon.

Lingerie

One of the most shocking expected trends is lingerie. This wear is usually exclusive to home-wear, but now lingerie will possibly seen in the public! This trend will definitely break many fashion boundaries, and will add a lot of excitement to the mix. We all will most likely see this style at the beach. Several designers who are pushing the trend include Calvin Klein, Givenchy, Alexander Wang, and Wes Gordon.

So there we have five expected trends that we should be seeing this spring and summer. There are several more expected looks that will be taking the fashion industry by storm. This year's fashion will definitely be more diverse and abnormal than what we have been use to the past couple of years.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. "Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
