The 2016 Presidential election cycle has been one of the most unique yet, leaving many Americans unhappy and confused on what is going to happen to our country. An unusual amount of voters are still undecided, unsure on who to vote for when the election comes around. Below is a general, unbiased overview of candidates Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, and Gary Johnson. All data in this article is taken from ontheissues.org.

Candidate Background Information

Hillary Clinton is a former first lady, former Democratic Senator (NY), and Secretary of State. She is the Democratic presidential nominee.

Donald Trump is an American business man and television producer. He is the Republican presidential nominee.

Gary Johnson is a former Republican governor of New Mexico. He is the Republican presidential nominee.

On Drug Policies (Marijuana)

Hillary Clinton is for medical marijuana and the cease of imprisoning marijuana users.

Donald Trump is cautious to legalize pot, and wishes to continue studying the possibility.

Gary Johnson is for legalizing marijuana.

On Education

Hillary Clinton believes a testing system based on a core curriculum has value.

Donald Trump wishes to cut the department of education and common core.

Gary Johnson does not believe in common core, and calls for public education system reform. Education should be led on a state and local basis.

On Environmental Issues

Hillary Clinton wants to expand green energy jobs and to build on the Paris Agreement.

Donald Trump wants to cut the EPA and claims that they are a disgrace.

Gary Johnson believes in collaborative, incentive drive, locally-based solutions.

On Gun Control

Hillary Clinton wants to reverse gun manufacturer immunity. Gun control advocates see her as an ally.

Donald Trump calls for no limits on guns and that mental health must be addressed.

Gary Johnson says that carrying guns reduces crime and mass shootings, and supports gun ownership rights.

On Health Care

Hillary Clinton believes Medicare-for-all is not economically feasible, and that science proves vaccines work.

Donald Trump is for vaccines, but in smaller quantities to "avoid autism". He does not want to cut Medicare and instead wishes to grow the economy to keep benefits.

Gary Johnson wants Medicare and Medicaid to be run via states and municipalities.

On Immigration

Hillary Clinton believes immigration keeps America young and dynamic and wishes to stop raids & roundups.

Donald Trump believes illegal immigration must be stopped at all cost, and that refugees are a Trojan Horse.

Gary Johnson believes work visas should be made easier, and that a bigger border fence would only produce taller ladders.

On LGBT Rights

Hillary Clinton wishes to include gender identity in anti-discrimination laws and supports gay marriage.

Donald Trump says that he is an ally of the LGBT community.

Gary Johnson believes the government should get out of the marriage business and that gay rights are a given liberty.

On Abortion

Hillary Clinton does not believe the government should intervene on a woman's right to chose.

Donald Trump wishes to defund Planned Parenthood and to ban late abortions.

Gary Johnson believes that Planned Parenthood does a lot of good and that the government is ill-equipped to address abortion.

On Social Security

Hillary Clinton wishes to expand Social Security and a possible payroll cap increase.

Donald Trump believes Social Security can be saved with more jobs and less waste.

Gary Johnson wishes to change eligibility rules for Medicare and that a portion of Social Security should be privatized.

On Tax Reform

Hillary Clinton does not want to increase the taxes of the middle class, but wishes to increase them for upper class.

Donald Trump wishes to cut taxes for the wealthy, repeal estate tax, and get rid of carried interest.

Gary Johnson wishes to get rid of income tax and capital-gains tax, and to replace tax system with a FairTax which would reboot the American economy.
