As wedding season is quickly approaching, I begin to think of all the dancing that is to be done, the food that is to be eaten and the wedding trends that will be popping up everywhere. Now, wedding trends come and go just like most trends should, I thank the Lord that the big bows and sleeves of 80’s wedding are no longer cute and that the tight updos and satin bridesmaid dresses of the 90’s are out of style, yet, every decade has its notable trends that everyone fell in love because, well, they were the newest things during that time; I just hope that the trends of 2016 won’t leave me cringing in 15 years. Anyways, here are 20 wedding trends to be on the look for in 2016.
1. Naked Cakes
While the naked cake trend may have started to make its way on the scene in 2015, 2016 is going to be the year that is it as every other wedding you go to.
2. Brunch Weddings
Sunny weather, a light meal and mimosas, these are the most appealing aspects of a brunch wedding. While afternoon ceremonies with evening receptions will always be popular, many couples are opting for the late morning/early afternoon combination for their nuptials. It is cost effective, unique and you get to serve the best meal of all: brunch.
3. Illusion Necklines
The days of strapless, mermaid gowns are over, bohemian styles and sheer necklines are taking the cake with young brides. Feeling free and chic on your wedding day is how brides want to feel and 2016 will be the year free spirit brides rejoice.
