Welcome ladies 'n' gents to the first ever Fast Food Awards. I'll be your host for about three minutes while you read this, so sit back, relax and find your inner fast food guru.
You know what they say, "Two is better than one," and I could not agree more with this statement when it comes to this restaurant's double cheeseburgers. This was a no brainer, based on the thickness, flavor and overall quality of the patties. The Best Double Cheeseburger Award goes to Hardee’s/Carl Jr.’s
Next up we have Best Chicken Sandwich. It's no coincidence that this restaurant is one that we all have craved on Sunday afternoons, show up and are extremely disappointed when the sign says closed. The Best Chicken Sandwich Award goes to Chick-fil-A
Chick-Fil-A almost swept the chicken category, but when one thinks of chicken strips, they can't help to think of this restaurant. The winner for Best Chicken Strips goes to Dairy Queen
One of America's favorite fast food sides is fries. Basically every fast food restaurant has this delicious, calorie-filled item on their menu, but only one restaurant can take the prize. Based on freshness, taste and overall satisfaction, Best Fries goes to McDonald’s (was it even really a debate?).
When it comes to "Mexican" food, it's hard to "think outside the box" because one place beats them all. The Best Tacos goes to Taco Bell — sorry Jack in the Box, but did you really expect to beat out Taco Bell? I mean it’s in the name.
From clowns, to dogs to kings, this category is extremely diverse. Each mascot represents each restaurant extremely well but ultimately the winner is: Jack from Jack in the Box — sorry Burger King, but the Botox has made your face so stiff it’s just creepy at this point.
To determine this category we really did see who brought all the boys to the yard. Made with hand scooped, delicious ice cream and a cherry on top, Best Milkshake goes to Hardee’s/Carl Jr.’s
Nothing finishes off a fast food run like ice cream. So many different fast food places serve ice cream, but only one comes to mind that beats them all. This category has so many different subcategories, but they would've swept the board in every way. Best Ice Cream goes to Dairy Queen
Recently, this place changed the breakfast game by making it available all day, every day. No longer did we have to suffer because we slept in too late after a long night out. Loyal customers thank you everywhere, and that's why Best Breakfast goes to McDonald's
I don't know about you, but I love taking my grandma out to lunch when I am home. We love this place because they have great burgers, fries and not to mention custard. Also if you get the kids meal, you get free ice cream, and if you save 10 "tokens," you can get a free meal. All of these reasons makes the Best Place to go with Grandma: Culver’s
Every year, fast food places introduce a new product to make their menu interesting and bring in new customers. These specialty items usually range from drinks to desserts and everything in between. This place introduced their products for the first time to public markets last summer and made it truly a summer to remember. Taking home their second award of the night, the Best Specialty Item goes to: Taco Bell’s Baja Blast.
As college kids, we're all broke. If you want to take your significant other on a date, but don't have the funds, you cant go wrong with this place. A place you can ~grill and chill~ all night long. Already taking home two awards, the Best Place for a Lunch Date goes to Dairy Queen
Thank you to all of those out there that are loyal fast food lovers — you really made this possible. Never change. Hopefully reading this didn't make your mouth water too much, but if it did you have my permission to treat yo'self to your favorite fast food.
