A crucial way the public views this year's election is dependent on the media. The inevitable flaw with this form of communication is that the media can get a lot of hate for not displaying bipartisanship and not always providing the public with accurate and concrete information. The media can only go so far, however, in altering the public opinion. It is our duty as citizens to discern what we believe to be valuable portrayals of our most on-screen candidates, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. Taking what I know about our candidates from articles I have read and screen time that they have been given, I would say that a better understanding of our candidates can be found simply by watching the comedic show, 'The Office.' This show (aka my latest Netflix obsession) has characters that have resembling attributes to both Hillary and Mr. Trump. Considering the media is getting a reputation as being flawed, and published material looked upon as distinguished often regardless of credentials... this article can be considered to be on the same level of relevance as your latest Politico, Fox News, CNN, or other choice news outlet. So in other words, truly analyze information before drawing conclusions. Enjoy!
Hillary Clinton? More like Jan Levinson.
Known as being a tough boss and having the urge to prove herself around the office, Jan Levinson is a great example of a Hillary Clinton-like character. In public, Jan is strong and always keeping up appearances but in reality her private life is just a mess all around. This can be said about Hillary Clinton's life as well. Also, the fact that Jan has various scandals while servicing for Dunder Mifflin Paper Company, and the scandals that have obviously become a part of Hillary's life... 'nuff said.
Donald Trump? Ha. More like Dwight Schrute.
Our candidates can be perceived in any way, shape, or form depending on the way media presents them. Personally, I see Dwight and Jan on the ballot, to someone else it may be a different story. Regardless of where you stand in politics right now, perhaps we can all agree that even if we strongly dislike a candidate or a character from a TV show, the show itself or the country they wish to represent is a golden five-star rating.
