From Michael Kors to Calvin Klein, NYC fashion week is a thrill for anyone in the fashion/modeling world. Models walk the runways with the upcoming, newest fashion trends, just giving viewers a glimpse of what is to come. There were quite a few trends from this fall's fashion week that stuck out to me.
1. Choker necklaces
I know, you're probably thinking, "wait, what? Those things that were popular in the 90s?" Yes. Choker necklaces are actually making a huge comeback, based on fashion week. If you don't see people wearing them around the streets yet, just be prepared to.
2. Off the shoulder tops
These have been in for a little over a year, but fashion week predicted the rise of the trend. Now, dramatic sleeves and ruffles are also taking the rise with this trend. Super cute and exciting! If you don't have an over-the-shoulder top in your closet now, you probably will come spring 2017.
3. The color tan
The color tan is extremely chic, girly, yet still very sophisticated. NYC fashion week featured many different shades of tan. I absolutely LOVE the color. It's extremely feminine and adds a "she definitely has her stuff together" splash to any look.
4. Fur, fur, and more fur
Statement fur was one of the top showcased items of fashion week. Anything from colored fur to plain-looking fur made an appearance. This look is totally "extra" as some may think, but it definitely adds a lot of flare to each and every outfit. Also, what's wrong with looking warm?
5. We do love our ruffles
I'm not exactly sure how I feel about the whole ruffle thing, but it can be extremely flattering depending on the top and the look! Ruffle sleeves were highly showcased at fashion week!
6. Pantsuits
I'm in love with pantsuits because it screams intelligence. Put on a pantsuit and you already look like a wealthy businesswoman who's ready to take on the world. Victoria Beckham, as pictured above, already struts her pantsuits perfectly.
7. Flower prints
I'm not a fan of crazy floral patterns, but NYC fashion week made it clear that floral clothing was in the future of fashion. Floral patterns add a cute and girly vibe to any dress or piece of clothing!
Whether you're looking to wear the latest fashion trends, NYC fashion week is one of the first places to start. The upcoming looks are exciting, chic, and sophisticated. I'm extremely excited to see what pops up in stores.
