The NBA season is approaching its halfway point and time has answered many questions fans had in the off season about what we could expect in 2015-2016. As 2015 comes to an end, teams will only start working harder as the playoff picture clears up and MVP race heats up. We already have a team who only has two losses and another with only three wins, an unpopular draft pick who is demolishing the doubt, Christmas jerseys that actually looked pretty good and a player who may be better than LeBron James?! Amazing how much can happen in three months, but the season is far from over. Here are five things we know so far and what we can expect upon June.

1. Stephen Curry is the best player in the NBA

Stephen Curry recently released on Sports Illustrated that he believes he is the best player in the NBA after being named the 2015 NBA Player of the Year and he is not wrong. How can you not love Steph Curry? He has the perfect family, perfect shot, perfect pre-game warm up and just the best team in the NBA. The baby-faced assassin that is Chef Curry is putting up some numbers that were not expected from the reigning league MVP. Entering his sixth year in the league out of Davidson, Curry is averaging 30.5 points per game; a near seven point increase from last year. Curry's consistency in his shooting makes him elite. Shooting a ridiculous 45 percent from behind the three point line and 51 percent from the field in general, Stephen Curry is now the early favorite to win the MVP back-to-back.

Now, what about LeBron James? LeBron is LeBron. He is a runaway freight train who can drive to the lane and finish better than everyone. His basketball IQ is elite along with his skill set. However, LeBron's field goal and three point shooting percentage have dropped since last year. He is only shooting 25 percent from behind the line, which is down a full 10 percent from last year. His assist numbers are down to six per game vs. the near eight pregame from last year. With the season only near halfway through, LeBron can still make his case for MVP, but right now Stephen Curry's shooting ability makes him a level above everyone in the game and is transcending basketball.

2. Spurs Defense Could Knock Off the Warriors

The San Antonio Spurs are on pace to win 65 games this year. While the NBA fan base spoils themselves in the success of the Golden State Warriors, the Spurs remain under the radar. San Antonio is now a defensive juggernaut in the NBA putting up historic numbers. Sixteen games this season, the Spurs have held opponents under 40 points after two quarters before the Utah Jazz with a whopping five games holding teams under 40 at halftime. Their defensive capabilities are why I have them as the best team to knock off the Warriors. The two teams are very similar in their size and style of play with fast, efficient ball movement; however, the Spurs' defense ranks first in nearly all categories such as points per game allowed and opponents field goal percentage. If the Spurs maintain their play, they could have a great shot at the Warriors in the Western Conference Finals.

3. Knicks Fans Don't Know Anything About Basketball

Yes, New York, I am calling you out! After your pitiful reaction of the drafting of Kristaps Porzingis, the rookie has been on a tear. Though scoring just 13 points per game, he is a fantastic rebounder and defender down low. At seven feet and three inches, he has many guard-like skills, which make him versatile. Porzingis is simply a Dirk Nowitzki in the making.

The best part is that he is a year younger than I am, only turning 20 in August. He is a raw product with plenty of room to grow. The fans were upset just because he was a "no-name" player from Latvia overlooking the size and skill set that he possesses. He is my favorite to win Rookie of the Year and give Carmelo Anthony and the Knicks a shot at the playoffs. As for the cry baby Knick fans, grow up and enjoy your new super star.

4. East is Better Than the West?

Over the past 10 years, the West has had a significant advantage in terms of quality versus the East. The East has recently been dominated by the Boston Celtics and LeBron James' Heat and Cavalier's teams while other teams such as the Knicks, Hawks, Pacers, Wizards and Bulls have failed to get over the hump and join the true race of contention. The West has been chopped full of contending teams. The Spurs, Lakers, Thunder, Mavericks and and Warriors have all been in the Finals over the past ten years and has always presented more entertaining playoff match-ups than the East. This season has appeared to be different. The West has a 13-17 Utah Jazz team making the playoffs as the 8-seed while the East has an 18-14 Boston Celtics team making the playoffs at the same seed. The East appears well balanced as the Cavs and Hawks are only two games apart for number one in the conference, and there are ten teams above .500; The West only has six teams above .500. The vast improvement in teams such as Chicago, Orlando, Miami and Boston has made the East much stronger and could challenge the Cavaliers for the Eastern Conference Title. Now the West has, in my opinion, the three best teams in the NBA (Golden State, San Antonio, and Oklahoma City) just destroying the rest of the mediocrity the conference has to offer. Teams like Dallas and Los Angeles [Clippers] could make some noise later this season and present the challenge, but, for now, it is a three-manned race for the Western Conference title.

5. Playoff Prediction: Finals Rematch?

It's too early to tell and a lot of basketball yet to be played, but all signs are leading to a Finals rematch between the Cavaliers and Warriors.

Let's start with the East.

Yes the Miami Heat are back, yes Chicago looks promising, and yes the rest of the East looks solid and balanced. But come on guys, LeBron James in April and May is a monster. With Kyrie Irving still on the come back trail from his terrible injury in last year's Finals, this team will only improve with his playmaking capabilities. It is still unclear who could present the best challenge for the Cavaliers because every team has basically the same record around 18-13. My guess would be a Chicago team with a lot of playoff experience if Derrick Rose can remain healthy.

What about the West?

The Warriors seem unstoppable. Despite their significant loss to Dallas, the team was without a Steph Curry, Harrison Barnes and other key players. When healthy, they can beat anyone in the league when playing at their best. I said before San Antonio could knock off the Warriors, but can they win four games in a seven game series? Can they steal one in Oakland? My answer is yes, but in those four wins they would have to play shut down defense on Steph Curry and slow the game down. This means rebounding, posting up with Aldridge and Leonard, and having the bench outplay the Warriors bench. Talking about it now, I cannot wait for the Western Finals. Others teams such as the Thunder have a shot, but they would probably have to go through both the Spurs and Warriors to get to the Finals. Kevin Durant is a beast and Russell Westbrook is a bolt of lightning, but can the supporting cast step up and compete with more complete teams such as a San Antonio or Golden State? Unlikely, but with KD and Westbrook on your team, anything can happen.

So, who wins?

If the Warriors remain healthy, I believe they have the best shot to repeat. I believe they beat the Cavaliers in six games such as last year. Steph Curry wins Finals MVP and Riley Curry will continue to be must see TV.

2016 will be a great year! The NBA season is heating up and should be an interesting one!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
