The early 2000s was known for many different things, but television shows were far above anything else. Sometimes what makes shows so great is when they incorporate current events into episodes -- this meaning holidays. That being said, it's hard to find a show that was on during the early 2000s that subsequently did not have at least one Halloween-themed episode. In case you forgot, here were just a few of the most memorable.
"Malcolm in the Middle," "Halloween" (2005)
For those who may not remember, this episode of "Malcolm in the Middle" was the one in which Reese and Malcolm discover that their neighborhood is haunted. Full of traditional trick-or-treating, haunted houses, and a little bit of mayhem, this episode is one for the books.
"Sabrina the Teenage Witch," "Murder on the Halloween Express" (2001)
As a witch, it's no surprise that Sabrina loves Halloween. But when her friends don't share the same feelings, she decides to take them all on a Mystery Halloween Train ride. Turns out, they become part of the mystery themselves and the only way they can leave is to solve it before time runs out.
"That's So Raven," "Don't Have a Cow" (2003)
In this crazy episode, Raven and Chelsea, in search of the perfect costume, crack open an old spell book. After accidentally messing up a spell, they end up turning themselves into cows. Therefore, they end up attending the Halloween party on all fours. It's an "udder" mess to say the least.
"Even Stevens," "A Very Scary Story" (2001)
It's not a very scary story but it is a funny one. After Louis plays a prank on Ren, she decides to get revenge by somehow creating education-loving zombies out of the other students at school -- including Louis' friends. Louis avoids falling victim by desperately figuring out how it is being done.
"Zoey 101," "Haunted House" (2005)
This goofy episode of "Zoey 101" was unforgettable mainly because of the cast's costumes. The students attended the annual Haunted House that Logan was put in charge of, and got more than a scare. Taking matters into their own hands, they team up to give Logan a taste of his own medicine.
"Friends," "The One With The Halloween Party" (2001)
What was supposed to be a fun get-together, goes awry when Chandler and Monica host a Halloween party for all their friends. Phoebe meddles in her crush's relationship, Ross has the punniest yet worst costume known to man, and to cap off the night, Chandler and Ross get into a heated armwrestling match.
"The Suite Life of Zack and Cody," "The Ghost in Suite 613" (2005)
Esteban holds a seance in a joint attempt with Zack and Cody to investigate a supposedly haunted suite in the hotel. Meant to be a prank, the members in the room end up mysteriously disappearing due to the ghost of the room's last inhabitant. However, Zack and Cody end up finding out the truth about the ghost in the end.
"Lizzie McGuire," "Night of the Day of the Dead" (2001)
With Kate in charge, the school's Halloween party-planning is her way or the highway. But when she gives Miranda's ancestral decorations the boot, creepy things start to happen. Messing with the decorations proves to be a grave mistake as people and costumes begin to change due to these very spirits.
"How I Met Your Mother," "The Slutty Pumpkin" (2005)
This Halloween love story is a hard one to forget. Ted still cannot let go of the fact that he lost the number of his dream girl at a party 10 years back. When he sees her same costume in a storefront window, he tracks her down and invites her out on a proper date, 10 years too late.
"Spongebob Squarepants," "Graveyard Shift" (2002)
Forced to work a 24-hour shift by Mr. Krabs, Squidward, for his own entertainment, scares Spongebob into believing that there is a killer who goes by the "Hash-Slinging Slasher." They both then end up convincing themselves that they are being stalked by a guy who matches this same profile, who turns out to be a jobless hopeful.
BONUS: "That's So Raven," "Cake Fear" (2005)
To get back at Raven and Cory for throwing their former babysitter under the bus, Victor rehires her and signs them up for the reality show "Revenge of the Babysitter." On the reality show, she terrorizes them so that they will ultimately fess up about what they did, proving to be successful in the end.
Happy watching and Happy Halloween!
