Admittedly, I am a horrible college student. Not because I don't do well in my classes, but because I find it hard to keep up with the rest of my peers in all things social, interactive and fun. I've often found myself feeling slightly uncomfortable at parties past 10 p.m. (I can't believe I'm missing my show!), but in an attempt to keep up my image as a "regular college kid," I power through time after time. Keeping up this facade isn’t easy, and sometimes I end up accidentally showing my true inner grandma to the sheer horror of my friends. So, for all the other 20-something grandmas in the world, here’s to you. And here’s what it really feels like when the rest of your friends are ready to rage and you're ready to take a nap.

1. You're in bed before 10 p.m.

2. You care more about comfort than style.

3. Your animals are your entire life and more.

4. If you miss your weekly show you get really cranky.

5. You’re ready to leave a party as soon as you show up.

6. You find enjoyment in watching HGTV and QVC.

7. You’re always sitting down. Always.

8. Just walking to your classes can completely wipe you out.

9. Grocery shopping is a spiritual experience.

10. You spend a lot of time thinking about your friends and wondering how they are.

11. You’re more than happy to DD your friends to make sure they’re safe.

12. You’re extremely uncomfortable with change in any way, shape or form.

13. Anyone under the age of 18 makes you really uncomfortable, and you assume they’re a trouble maker.

14. When your friends invite you out but you were planning on staying in and reading a book or sleeping.

15. You frequently say that you're tired of the working world and you're ready to retire.

16. You realize you've reached peak grandma age a little early, but you figure it's not so bad in the end and you're just prepping for your future.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
