Winter is a magical season, a time of rest, and a time of reflection. When it begins, you are full of anticipation and excitement for the winter chill and the snow to start falling. But once the winter is in full swing, it seems as though the magic becomes lost. If you are feel melancholy because of the cold, here are 20 ways to kick those winter blues right out the door.

Creativity is a life saver. Tap into your creativity in any way you can. It will surely get you out of a bad mood.

Create your own cozy space or go somewhere that is. There's nothing better or more peaceful than being cozy.

Our bodies need a little extra love and care during the winter. The harsh winter winds and temperatures are rough on the body. Stay hydrated, treat yourself to a facial or massage and allow yourself to relax and unwind.

We are constantly on the move, bombarding ourselves with tasks and putting unnecessary pressure on ourselves to complete them. Be gentle with yourself and give your body the time it needs to rejuvenate.

5. BUNDLE UP

Don't be afraid to wear those extra layers! You will feel less panicky when you step outside into the freezing cold.

6. SPEND QUALITY TIME WITH FRIENDS

Surround yourself with positive people who love and care for you.

7. TRY JOURNALING

Writing in a journal is freeing and therapeutic. You can always keep it close by to you.

8. TAKE A LOOK AROUND

Towards the end of the winter we grow impatient and stop living in the present moment. Find the beauty of this season.

9. WATCH A MOVIE OR LECTURE THAT INSPIRES YOU

Movies and lectures are wonderful. Inspirational ones will give you a burst of motivation.

10. COOK OR BAKE SOMETHING DELICIOUS AND SHARE IT WITH SOMEONE

You don't have to be a professional chef to make something yummy. Even if you think you're the worst cook in the world, give it a try. You might surprise yourself and others.

11. FIND SOME SUNSHINE

If it's too cold to go for a walk or sit outside, find a place in your home where the sunshine fills the room. Let the sun hit your face and stay there for a while.

12. PLAY A GAME

A good old fashioned board or card game is just what you need right now.

13. DO SOME YOGA

Try some yoga. It will lift your spirit and free your mind.

14. READ A BOOK

Books are beautiful little gems that you can take out at any moment of the day to fill you up with joy.

15. ORGANIZE AND DECLUTTER

Organize your calendar and your thoughts by writing everything down. Also, try remodeling or decluttering the space that you live in. It will give the room a whole new positive vibe.

16. ADD SOME LIFE TO YOUR ROOM

Little plants are precious and reminders that spring is on it's way. Add one to your room and watch it grow.

17. GO ON AN ADVENTURE

Plan a day to go somewhere brand new or to a place that makes you feel happy and content.

18. TAKE A NAP

A twenty minute nap on days when you're feeling a little off will give you a burst of energy to carry you through the rest of the day.

19. ALWAYS MAKE TIME TO DO WHAT YOU LOVE

Work on that project or start creating the idea you can't stop thinking about.

20. TELL SOMEONE YOU LOVE THEM

Call up a loved one and tell them how much you love and appreciate them. It will make their day and in return make you a happier and more compassionate person.
