There is nothing quite as sacred as a Disney movie. There are so many genres to choose from! The classics, the live actions, the non-princess movies...the list goes on. And life as a Lope at Grand Canyon University? While it might not be the Happiest Place on Earth, it's still pretty magical. So here are all the ways that Disney movies describe life at Grand Canyon University.

Not citing all your sources... and then having to submit via TurnItIn

Hopefully, they won't notice you used part of an old paper...

When that one person in your CLC group doesn't do their work

I see you, Brenda!

Walking to meet a friend for lunch in August

No, I don't want to walk from Agave to Lopes Way. But for you, I'll make an exception.

Thinking you know what you got yourself into when you show up for Welcome Week

The crazy volunteers, the Welcome Week activities, the free t-shirts-- there's nothing quite like GCU Welcome Week.

Going to Chick-Fil-A even though you have like $4 left on your dining dollars

Why must everything be so expensive?

"You have to read the textbook for this course"

Professors have such high expectations of us!

When you want to do things but it's Sunday night

15 essays, 3 presentations, a CLC, and 3 hours in which to do it all!

Trying to wake up for a 7 a.m.

I'm not actually sure why 7 AM classes are an option...

When you're friends with a science major

Wait, you have how many exams this week?

Going to chapel like

Great chapel speakers are the perfect way to start the week.

That one friend who's working towards her Mrs. degree

#RingBySpring

Watching your friends get ready for church on Sunday morning

It really can be a magical thing to witness.

When LoudCloud decides to not work

Sunday nights are actually the worst.

"No, you can't keep your dog in your dorm room"

Not even if I dress him up like a turtle???

Trying to master the worship leader look... and failing

Nobody wears it quite like the real worship leaders.

Because it's a Christian university

No shame in that game!

When someone says they don't go to chapel or The Gathering

I bet you also don't go to life group!

Sometimes, the promise of Heaven is too real

"Jesus take me now!"

Playing against New Mexico State

Black-out game, white-out game, intimidation is key!

And finally... what GCU looks like when you're coming home

The experience of being a Lope is nothing short of magical, and there's no place I'd rather be... Well, except maybe Disneyland.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
