20 Times Dana Scully Accurately Represented Your Feelings About College

With the recent revival of the mid-nineties cult-classic, The X-Files, there as been a lot of hype surrounding the series. So, I found it fitting to reveal the twenty times we've all related to T.V's most skeptical redhead.

[ X-Files theme plays]

1. When your alarm goes off for your 8 a.m class

There is nothing sadder than being forced to enter the realm of the living. But doing it because of a two hour lecture is somehow worse.

2. When someone takes the seat you've been sitting in all semester.

C'mon. It's been six weeks. I know we don't technically have assigned seats in this class, but have some respect.

3. When someone makes a pretentious comment in your intro level class.

We're all just here to pass. Settle down a little bit.

4. When you find out class is cancelled.

There is nothing sweeter than this. It is truly the most delightful experience about college.

5. When that one annoying roommate goes home for the weekend.

This one may vary on if you have an annoying roommate or not, but if you do, you understand.

6. When you find out about an exam you didn't know about.

At this point, you just need all the luck you can get.

7. When your professor says the final is going to be easy.

The whole class just shares the feeling of, "Yeah. Right."

8. When your professor tries to assign something that isn't on the syllabus.

As if we don't already have enough to do.

9. When you have an attractive TA.

Well, maybe this class won't be so bad after all.

10. When someone asks if they can join your group.

They can. As long as they don't get in the way.

11. When the dining hall actually has good food.

Or better yet...

12. When the food is free

The universe is rewarding you for all of your suffering.

13. When you skip class for the first time.

The adrenaline rush can be addicting...be careful.

14. When you finally finish that paper you've been putting off

You feel like a million bucks, even if you look a little insane.

15. When your professor makes attendance mandatory.

If you have to force people to be there, your class sucks. End of story.

16. When someone says something sexist, even though it's 2016.

Inevitably, someone will make a sexist comment thinking they are being clever. Just shoot them this look and that'll shut them down.

17. When it's finally the weekend

Time to party!...or get some much needed alone time.

18. Two words: Laundry. Day.

Featuring: the neverending search for quarters

19. When you need to use the bathroom...but apparently so does everyone else

The entire world is in this line right now I swear to God.

20. When you realize that college isn't what you thought it would be

But you can love it all the same.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

winter

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
